Is it just me or does Jack Fitzgerald sound similar to Martin Short?
Â
I thought I heard a touch of ol' Chip Gardner in there too

Andy Daly is my favorite guest so this was already amazing but Scott was on FIYAH! He stole the show, his very own show in fact, in a Shyamalanian style twist!

"I wonder if the movie Mr. Hollands Opus played really well in Holland..."

I love how Heidecker "oh-so-casually" drops a massive bombshell every time he mentions a new project. Scott's laughing made it even funnier, made it sound like Tim came up with that on the spot...

In other news, that Guy Fieri hairdresser fight actually happened: http://www.tmz.com/2...er-fight-video/
Â
Also, Jon and Scott's "fight" got so fake heated I even felt a little uncomfortable for a second. Hilarious episode.

more Mike Hanford!!!!

I can guarantee the Zombie Shuffle will be a Halloween staple for years to come.

I gave this one a second listen and wow. People wayyyyy overreacted, including myself. Pete Holmes was funny and a great sport, John Gabrus was hysterical (something we can all agree on I think) and Pam Murphy was awesome as usual. There wasn't enough Scott, and I think thats what people had a problem with largely. And I think we all forgot this is a free podcast and probably should enjoy it as much as we can.

Watching Rainn and Reggie try not to lose it during his explanation of "The Lonesome Cowboy" was priceless.

While I don't instantly hate Mr. Holmes though, I will say this. I hate TBS for giving him a show over Jimmy Pardo. If anyone should've gotten a post-Conan TV Show, it should be him. Considering he does regular features on Conan's show already, such as the "Pardo Patrol" - so he's a known quantity on TBS - and is an excellent comedian regardless, he's an OBVIOUS choice to be spun off from Conan and follow that show up. It's great that they're doing more original programming, and giving shots to "comedy nerds' comedians" in lieu of airing crappy shows like The Office in syndication following Conan, I just don't see the logic in this particular move.
Â
Totally agree. Pardo's NNF was the first comedy podcast I ever got in to and still has probably the best traditional stand up show I've seen in person. I'm a big fan of that guy and was hoping his recent activity on Conan would get him in a position to be "next up" for a late night show. Don't have anything personal against Pete Holmes but Pardo was the obvious choice IMO.

I think Tim Kalpakis is one of the Tab guys. Does anyone know who the second one is? I want to say Jefferson Dutton. kthx!
Â
I've done some in depth research and analysis of this particular podcast and have deduced this:
Â
Coke Guys: Mike Hanford (Robby) and Jefferson Dutton
Pepsi Guys: Chris Vanartsdalen and Matt Kowalick
(s)Tab Guys: Tim Kalpakis and Mike Mitchell
Â
Dave Ferguson was the neutral party.

Mike Hanford is hysterical. One of the more unique comedy presences I've heard/seen in a while. He was hilarious live on the tour as were the entire BBoys group. Tim Kalpakis was also great in the Jim Gaffigan CBB ep.

oh my god if that last part of "Guess the mis-heard lyrics" where adomian does the whole rolling stones pizza company commercial is actually improv he is a god among men.

How was this episode not called Beef Over?

I was at the Portland show last night and looooved it. front row seats baby. Birthday Boys were fantastic (we saw a return of Ducky Powell!!!).
Â
Best line of the night:
Â
Scott: "What percentage of your conversations end with the person just turning and walking away."
Â
Ice T: "If I had to ballpark it, I'd say...100%"
Â
Thanks for a great show!

Note to self: If I ever host a successful podcast, never have Janeane Garofalo on.

"Hey thats a mental switch for me: adjusted."

After listening to this like twice, I'm SO upset I missed James Adomian at the Helium a few weeks ago. This is probably in the top 5 episodes ever.

I assume Chip's face is a little bit like Robert Z'Dar's.
Â
Honestly the Honorary Mayor of Hollywood episode might be my favorite example of improv. Scott and Jason force everything down Daly's gullet, yet he strings it together so well.
Â
Thats kind of how I feel. I had never quite heard an episode like this one. Andy comes on with a fairly specific character in mind and Scott and Jason do everything in their power to absolutely derail him (probably because they knew Andy could roll with it, unlike alot of other improv comics). It's like anti-improv.
-
What a great ep. Chupa stole the show in this one.
-
Chip does appear on the 2012 Summer Tour Los Angeles live episode, together with Harris & Adam, El Chupacabra and Paul Giamatti!
Â
aaaaaaand im buying that right now...
-
Adomian. God damn.
-
Oh wait they had that same conversation in the very first episode too hahaha

How has no one mentioned that they did some dialogue from the 1st episode verbatim after one of the breaks?
Â
I noticed that too! I thought I was having crazy deja vu or something. It's from ep 100. But its about 99.9% identical to that same conversation without the audio actually being lifted from that episode...I was a huge fuckin nerd for a second and compared them and they are a little bit different but they must have had to rehearse that or something because it was almost the exact conversation word for word. Meta podcasting man.

Episode 258 — Yoke Jams

I think Bill Callahan might win the award for least amount of words spoken as an on-mic guest during a 90 minute podcast. He had some serious Andy Kaufman level genius going on.
