  1. You know how when you see a great comedy and you want to remember all of the funny parts, but you have a hard time remembering any because there are so many. Well that's how I felt about this movie. There were so many HDTGM moments I would need to go back with a notebook to get them all down. Just their fighting stance alone is worthy of an entire episode.

  2. I think it's a no brainer for you guys to start a TV discussion podcast. You could talk about the shows you love, bad shows, or a specific show. TV has pretty much surpassed the cinema at this point. Do it! Congrats on your child! If it's a boy, will you name him Chev?

  3. Also, did anyone else think his scene was the best part of Wolf of Wall Street? I would have been ok with a Best Supporting Actor nomination for those five minutes.

Totally agree. The minute I walked out of Wolf, I said to my wife, if his screen time qualifies he should win supporting actor.

  4. Wow I literally just posted about this another thread. HBO Go though pulled Howard the Duck the day that Paul announced it, then put it back up a few days after the episode dropped. They also pulled Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles the day Paul announced (yes, the same day, I'm sure of it) but left Croc 1 and 2 up. So weird

Yep, and in both cases I was forced to rent on iTunes. Pretty sure it's not a coincidence.

  5. In Australia, we don't have skunks guys.

We also don't books, wildlife documentaries, the internet, zoos, Looney Toons cartoons with Pepe Le Pew or the movie Bambi or really just general knowledge about animals. Truth.

But yeah, this movie sucked. Paul Hogan has basically made a career of being the Australian version of when Taco from the League appeared in the Sands of Passion as the American rapper-slash-cowboy-slash-cautionary tale.

Apparently you don't have remote controls either, based on Dundees inability to manage a television set on multiple occasions.

  6. Why would that be a reason to pull them? If anything, it gets more people to watch them! For a nearly 30-year-old movie to become relevant again, if even just for a little while, would be any studio or television station's DREAM.

Because in each case I had to rent or buy the movie, rather than view it on Netflix or hbo go as I could have the week before.

  7. ...or are production companies pulling movies from Netflix, amazon prime, etc., when they hear HDTGM is doing them? It seems like 3 or 4 of the last 10 movies have been on Netflix or HBO right up until Paul announces they're covering them. Then they disappear only to return a couple weeks after the podcast. Has anyone else noticed this?

  8. I was at Largo for this one. Best show, of any kind, that I've seen in a long time. It was one of those shows where I'd miss jokes because I was laughing so much. Explanation hope was the greatest thing I've heard. Then to see Jason stand up, walk across the stage, and call the explanation hoper a dummy...priceless. If you are in New York, buy your tickets now.

I watch movies released by major Hollywood studios. And you've already made up your mind about this subject, so getting a full list won't do a damn thing to change it. Instead I'll suggest that you look up Sut Jhally's work on minority representation in popular media.

On the contrary, I seek enlightenment. I have been wracking my brain on this one. Maybe if you throw me a couple examples I will understand where you're coming from. I assume you are speaking of current or relatively current films, right? Not trying to be antagonistic, just trying to understand.

Have you ever had the chance to hear him speak? He came to my college during sophomore year and we expected him to talk about African Americans in movies and how we are portrayed in movies and maybe give some insight onto why it is we always have to be the bad guys. (Case in point, there is a movie called "Safety Not Guaranteed" that does this shit. There is a scene where the main characters are asked to stand -- just stand -- in a place where there are two black people talking. Just two black folks minding their own damn business. The characters FREAK THE FUCK OUT and act as if you were asking them to stand in a pit of snakes!)

But all he did was talk about his career and the movies he's made and tell us how we can buy those movies. Also, the Q and A section was just actors handing him their headshots and resumes. It was atrocious.

What movies are you watching? Filmakers go out of their way to portay bad guys as dopey white guys in stupid clothes. Seriously, I would love some examples.
