I never read the book so this is probably as much of a beef with Crichton as it is with the screenwriters, but talk about deus ex machina with the volcano exploding! This volcano was apparently dormant long enough for this diamond mining gorilla civilization to remain intact for what, hundreds or even thousands of years? Then it goes off suddenly, just when our heroes have to escape! hey dum dums, don't build your diamond mine and gorilla war camp at the base of an active volcano.

I feel a little like Juan Pablo after being rejected by Des. After being hurt by podcasts before, I had finally put myself out there and thought I had found the podcast for me. I was listening to this show for the right reasons. Now I don't know if I'll ever find a podcast. Maybe I'll be without a podcast forever.

"I own a porsche, a bmw, a monster truck, and 30 companies" is definitely the best takedown that has ever happened on television." The Challenge is still my favorite show on TV, but I do have to say that the recent trend of all of the competitors being roided out and in shape takes something out of it for me. I'm not watching this show to see feats of strength. I'm watching it for a bunch of tanked up, emotionally unstable people to nearly kill each other in hopes of winning a relatively small monetary prize, with only a few of those people being roided out and in shape. During the big fight this week, you could see people JOGGING in the background! They need to institute new rules. No roids, no working out (or JOGGING) during the show, and everyone has to be drinking and off their meds.

Yeah, this was a hilarious episode all around but Scott in particular was really firing on all cylinders. I think he challenges the Sinatra-Giuliani tandem for best host currently going in entertainment.

That's a great idea. Leykis needs to be the guest the next time they do a CBB youtube VPN show so he can take questions from the men out there that need help. Like all the guys spending more than $40 on dates.
-
There definitely seemed to be a point in the episode where Scott regretted having Leykis there and was actively trying to get him to leave. CBS radio and the shrieking shrews out there must have gotten in his ear.

AMAZING episode of the Challenge this week. *sits back and watches forum thread turn into argument about second wave vs. third wave feminism and the impact on non-white populations*

The only beef I had with Jay Mohr on this ep was his assertion that Ohio and parts of Pennsylvania are in the central time zone! As a proud eastern time zoner that resides in Pennsylvania, I was pretty offended. I was also upset they didn't mention my favorite Jay Mohr movie- "Paulie." The story of a parrot trekking across country to find his owner. Mohr does double duty as the voice of Paulie and as a clueless con man that befriends Paulie. Tony Shaloub and Cheech Marin also turn in solid performances.

411 Ground Pound started off as a quiet, spiritual deep thinker type and really took a dark turn as the podcast went on. It was hilarious.

Eugene Cordero was great all episode, but the backing vocal karaoke was incredible

The exchange between Aukerman and PFT about the tooth fairy, Scott losing a tooth in a field, and PFT's confusion about why that was relevant had me in tears.

Judd the stud's southern accent sounds really phony to me. It doesn't sound like a normal southern accent, and it doesn't sound like an Appalachian accent either. I'm convinced he is either faking it or possibly has a speech impediment.

I thought a better topic relating to the Wire would be how 80-90% of white people that watch the Wire seem to consider themselves authorities on inner city life and urban social policy.

Today was the day I decided to introduce my girlfriend to CBB on our morning commute. Things got weird fast. Anyone know a good online dating site for guys with not quite symmetrical faces? -

Episode 85.5 — Bonus Cut: Yo, Is "Yo, Is This Racist?" Racist?

I took bigger issue with the guest on the "Yo" podcast acting as if people in New York and Los Angeles really occupy a high ground when it comes to racism. I thought she was maybe playing a caricature of a snobby New Yorker who looks down on middle america's racism while being completely racist herself, but as the podcast progressed I came to realize that she was serious. This isn't one of those "your area of the country is racist too, so that makes my area's racism ok!" posts, I'm just saying it grinds my gears when someone from LA, San Francisco, or New York get up on their high horse about other areas of the country being racist. Just because you have a better food scene doesn't mean you have a better racism scene. -
I thought Bill Diesel sounded a lot like Roger Rabbit. Great episode, I'm pretty sure I could listen to a podcast that was just 45 minutes of Rick Faber telling stories of how he embarrassed Neil Campbell

I like the more conversational episodes once in a while. The zany character episodes are always going to be my favorite, but it's nice to break up the routine every now and then and have something different.

I think criticism of black conservatives for their politics is fair game, but the way some white liberals go about it makes me extremely uncomfortable. The rhetoric about Clarence Thomas in particular. He's often described as stupid, lazy, an affirmative action hire, Scalia's lapdog, etc. It's like they are venting their pent up racism at a target they know is safe.

Can't believe you didn't discuss the final scene of the Hills. That was devastating for me. I already knew it deep down, but that scene confirmed that I had wasted the previous 5 years of my life.

Episode 218 — The 4th Anniversary Extravaganza!
Paintsville replied to admin's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
I know I'm going to need to listen to this one again because I'm sure I missed some great moments while I was laughing so hard that I nearly drove my car off the highway. Highlight for me: "FIFTIES!.....Apologies to Molly Shannon" -
I seem to remember Friends and Seinfeld both getting heat for not having any diversity. Not as much as "Girls," but people definitely took note. Seinfeld kind of acknowledged it with the episode where George tries to find a black friend to prove he isn't a racist to Mr. Morgan. I think Friends just tossed a few non-white love interests into a few episodes.
