Who have been your favorite guests?

Ed Brubaker. Found it hilarious that the former writer of the Daredevil comic was on trashing the movie. Would love to hear him again...perhaps commenting on the 1990 Captain America disaster.

    EPISODE 112 — Jupiter Ascending

Not to mention Rick Veitch's graphic novel "Abraxas and the Earthman"...

    EPISODE 112 — Jupiter Ascending

Has it been mentioned that this movie is a koo-koo bananas homage to Disney princesses? Think about it: Average girl doesn't know she's royalty (Sleeping Beauty, Tangled) She's friends with rich girl she works for (Princess & the Frog) Works as cleaning lady (Cinderella) Willing to marry bad guy for greater good (Beauty & the Beast) Roguish love interest (also Tangled) who is literally part beast (also Beauty & the Beast) Can't help but wonder if a singing snowman was part of the 600-page script...
  4. To borrow a beloved phrase: THIS MOVIE IS BONKERS. There's weird politics, "elementals," prison planets, and Vin Diesel. I've tried to watch it three times, and I still have no idea what the hell is going on. Production values are pretty first-rate (aside from some wonky CGI), but the screenplay is uncomprehensible. And the acting... my god. Diesel's on-again, off-again voice over is so laconic that it makes the Blade Runner VO seem jolly.

Any HDTGM Movies that you consider good?

It's been years since I've actually watched it beginning-to-end, but I remember enjoying the hell out of Hudson Hawk. I always felt that it was a Looney Tunes movie. Even the protagonist's name is alliterative like a Warner cartoon character. Then again, my memory may be waaaaaay off...

Which Movies Does HDTGM Absolutely Need To Review?

Heartbeeps - Andy Kaufman's BIZARRE attempt at a mainstream movie career. Captain America (1990) - The only superhero movie in which the "hero" fakes being sick TWICE. Chronicles of Riddick - Truly fits in the category of "how did this get made." Expensive, great production values, Judy Dench----absolutely impenetrable. 47 Ronin - Currently the biggest financial flop in history.

    Premium Rush

When I saw the trailer, all I could think was: "why did they remake Quicksilver?"

    Manhattan Murder Mystery diss? C'mon!

While it's certainly not up there with Allen's best movies, MMM does have one of my favorite movie quotes: "there's nothing wrong with you that can't be cured with a little Prozac and a polo mallet."

    Starcrash (1979)

This and Message From Space are the ULTIMATE bad sci-fi double feature.

    Megaforce (1982)

YES YES YES... Even when I saw this as a kid, I was blown away by its awfulness... and I liked "Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone."

    Simon Sez (1999)

My initial instinct was to recommend "Double Team"... an action movie starring the acting triumvirate of Jean Claude Van Damme, Dennis Rodman, and Mickey Rourke. However, I gotta go with that other cinematic abortion starring Dennis Rodman... Simon Sez... in which stars as an Interpol agent (???!!!!) that teams up with pre-MySpace fame Dane Cook.
