I know new films are rarely done, but this one seems absolutely deserving. FWIW, it has the exact same godawful RT score (13%) as the last still-in-theaters film they did (Winter's Tale). I initially heard about it through Joe Mande's tweets and finally watched the trailer today and, good lord, what utter garbage.
-
After all the enthusiasm about it during the Winter's Tale ep, I can't believe no one's made a formal entry for this pile of garbage yet. And it comes out in just a couple of weeks!

Why hasn't Aziz Ansari been on the podcast yet?
Bob Drillboids replied to Thrillhouse88's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I forgot about the Human Giant connection. Which also begs the question as to why Jason Woliner hasn't been on (I know he did a mini-ep but that don't count). That dude is brilliant. -
PLEASE do this one with Gino Lambardo as the guest.

Another vote for Sleepaway Camp here. It's not even close for me. You can tell that the crew is having the best time analyzing it, Zack Pearlman is the perfect guest, and my goodness the failed attempt at establishing a family tree is one of the most enjoyable things ever recorded. I truly cannot understand how a fan of this show could dislike either Sleepaway Camp (or the Fasts), as they showcase everything that's fun about the podcast. It's like loving The Simpsons but hating the episodes that Conan O'Brien wrote.
-
Another reason to do this one - it's got Frank Langella aka Skeletor. Such a crazy filmography for such a respected actor.

Bump for Chrimbus. It's inconceivable how many rational people I know that continue to praise this trash. One of the best analyses here: http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2013/12/-em-love-actually-em-is-the-least-romantic-film-of-all-time/282091/

I'm scrolling through the yelp reviews for the bar now, it's almost as good as hearing Paul read second opinions. This one from Chris M sums it up nicely: "Skeevy. Filled with lonely-looking men. I also hate these kinds of places where women have to go out of there way to put on a show for lonely men. It makes me feel bad. There were 20 men in the bar, and the only women inside were the two bartenders. I could find a better ratio at a gay bar.”
-
The bar still exists, it's in the East Village, I went a couple of years ago because I hate myself and it was one of the saddest places I'd ever set foot in.

I saw it and you're spot on, it's definitely aping Tim & Eric. Clearly influenced by so many great things (John Waters, T&E, David Lynch), but it's such a less satisfying xerox of all those influences. I wouldn't recommend it for the show because it's so obviously being intentionally weird/gross/unpleasant (which is why I can't get into the Sharknado eps; the creators are in on the joke). If we're gonna watch a disgusting mess of a film for this podcast, I want it to be completely unintentional (I'm looking directly at you, The Garbage Pail Kids Movie).

Episode 890 - National Anthem to Met Gala (w/ Gabe Delahaye, Lakshmi Sundaram)
Bob Drillboids replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Yo, Is This Racist?
Gabe is the damned best. The only reason I know about earwolf was because Andrew Ti and Joe Mande used to appear on Videogum (RIP) and their trail led me to YITR and the Jingle All The Way ep of HDTGM.- 1 reply

Seems like a great choice for the Halloween ep.

My god that poster alone makes this HDTGM worthy.

That link is dead, found a new one on metacafe. So ridiculous. Bye, Spanky. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/an-q_yY4bYtbhY7t/the_wizard_1989_arriving_at_universal_studios_arcade/

I definitely saw this in the theater as a young idiot and loved it. Only thing I remember now was the nightmare clown and that there was maybe a brief glimpse of some breasts in a shower. Robot clowns and tatties, could there be a better film for Zooks to dissect?

The Peanut Butter Solution (1985)

Such a list also merits inclusion of the creepiest and most HDTGM-worthy film of all time, The Garbage Pail Kids Movie. -

I gotta add Roland Emmerich's Making Contact (aka Joey). I don't know if it made the rounds on HBO but a buddy of mine in 3rd grade had it on VHS. Good lord that ventriloquist dummy was nightmare fuel for a 9 nine year old. -

Haha, the wikipedia page calls it a "family horror fantasy film." Family horror is my new favorite genre.
