  1. I love Howard and he is certainly entitled to his opinion, which I agree with most of the time. My point was just that it's kind of a bummer to find out someone you really like and respect is into something you are repulsed by.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but I don't think less of him for it. It's just confusing to me.

I hear you, and I hope I wasn't heavy handed or preachy. I'm older than most around here, and it seems like I can't stand listening to anyone else's music. And they would say the same for me.

  2. You all should ease up on Howard a tiny bit. I don't think he was acting as a taste-maker for the audience, I think he was sharing with the audience like, "hey, just so you know, this is what I'm listening to right now."

You all might create a situation where Howard won't want to share, because he doesn't want to suffer the blowback.

  3. Since New Years Eve, Pinellas County Florida (where I live) a man chopped his mother's head off, and another man tossed his 5 year old daughter off a bridge to her death.

We're lucky to hear the funny tales on Sklarboro, but most of the stories are tragic. Florida is a hot shitbox of human agony.

  4. a few weeks back, Jimmy talked about entering a half-marathon. I thought at the time that it might be a good incentive to pledge certain amounts to Smile Train depending on how quickly Jimmy completed the run. (the idea had no traction - so it never came to fruition)

But at a 2:30+ Jimmy would have been on the lower echelon of donations. :)

If somebody would like to pass the idea on to Mr Pardo, with his consent, maybe he could turn his future runs into a pledge system of his choosing.

I'm thinking something along the line of an official sanctioned event, we'll use his chip-time, and for me I'm thinking a sub 2:15 and I'll kick in $50, Sub 2:05 $75...

So Jimmy get your foam-roller out, get your IT band under control, and run for the money.

    Sincerely.

  5. Xanadu was on the movie channels recently. Oof!

I watched the last half hour with my 11 year old daughter, and she was blown away by how bizarre the whole final dance looked.

It was hard to explain to her that there was a drug that made people want to make movies "look" that way. Plus the characters had spent all this money to build a bar, and everybody is dancing. There may have been one drink in the whole scene, but the place was doomed to fail with no money flow.

Which made me sound like an old curmudgeon. (which I am) So yeah, the whole no smoke, lots of dancing, no drinking, bizarre clothing, and me sitting there crapping on it to my daughter, "they need to install a bunch of TVs with sports on them, get some drunks in the door, or this place isn't going to make it a month."

Xanadu is a dated, coke-era creation. It is magical, it is the Xanadu of Xanadus.

  6. okay so HK is in a relationship, and it's all in stealth mode. If the N.Koreans hack into the relationship, what would they find?

    1) Did the N.Koreans find receipts to multiple dates to Olive Garden?

    2) Did the N.Koreans spy him taking her to putt-putt golf, with a DQ (swirl on top) cone afterwards?

    3) Did he take her to see Interstellar or Penguins?

    4) Did they record him asking her easy questions, so as not to tax her thought process.

    5) Did the N.Koreans watch an email exchange where she forced him to do a winter thing, like ice skating?

    6) HK has placed 4 orders with Shari's Berries so far this month.

Fellow Chartists, what did the N.Koreans find?

It's all just in fun, luvya Howard & Kulap (and Engineer Cody Stard), have a great holiday!

  7. Get your asses in the gym Sklars, you're getting soft! :)

A lot of gyms nowadays are sensitive to the fact that people new to a gym are easily scared-off from grunting, yelling, and posturing. So they curb it.

I lifted for years, grunters & dumbell droppers are miserable to be around. If you are going for a new single-rep, PR, max lift, then you get to grunt. Otherwise, if you are doing working sets, it's unnecessary.

If I was any good with photoshop I'd put Randy & Jason's head on top of a couple of hoody wearing roid freaks.
