Sex Lives of the Potato Men

If this was done it would be the most joyless episode of HDTGM ever. There is no fun to be had from watching or discussing this unless you get Johnny Vegas as a special guest. The director did write a piece defending it http://www.theguardian.com/film/2004/feb/27/2 The crux of his argument is that you only hate it because you're middle class and you have no right to criticise my film unless you are working class.

    Episode 86.5 — Minisode 86.5

It's a total coincidence I'm afraid. This episode would have been pre-recorded a while back like all recent and upcoming episodes, owing to June being with child.
  4. Yes, that really happened http://www.theguardian.com/film/2003/apr/04/artsfeatures1

    Idea for New Show

I know this has been suggested elsewhere on the forums but perhaps they could do books. My suggestion for How Did This Get Written? would be 'Kinski Uncut', the autobiography of the late actor Klaus Kinski where he recounts his life as a hyper-intense priapic man-child who is in a constant state of blood boiling rage or uncontrolled lust. To give you a flavour, he recounts an incident when he was on a plane with his wife and he has sex with a flight attendant which his wife is not happy about. The whole episode is dispensed with in only one line. The book is literally bonkers. To accompany the book I would suggest watching 'My Best Fiend' Werner Herzog's documentary about their tempestuous working relationship. All the Herzog/Kinski films are awesome.

    300: Rise of an Empire

I tend to believe that Zach Snyder is not really a film maker but rather a perpetrator of crimes against humanity who should one day be put on trial in The Hague. So I will not be seeing this but I have enjoyed the splendidly pointed reviews it has inspired such as this one from a historian who assesses movies on their historical accuracy and entertainment value. http://www.theguardi...-greeks-salamis ;"The first few minutes of 300: Rise of an Empire set out its wares: there's beheading, jiggling breasts, rape, a world view derived from Fox News (Darius the Great of Persia invaded Greece, we learn, because he was "annoyed by Greek freedom", macho military anachronism (Greek hero Themistocles is skilled in something called "Athenian shock combat"), blood and mud both spurting around in 3D on the screen like thick black slime, waxed chests, teeny tiny leather man-panties, a portentous voiceover and racism. If you love all that stuff, saddle up your battle rhino: the wilful massacre of ancient Mediterranean history that was 300 is back." "Distractingly, almost every scene has been overlaid by VFX of sparks, cinders and bits of dust floating around in the air, so that the whole affair begins to resemble a gay neoconservative snowglobe." The only positive we can draw from the untimely passing of Edward Said is that he did not live to see this.

    RoboCop 3 (1993)

Kurtwood Smith has done a most splendid interview for 'Random Roles' at the AV Club. Wonderful actor and he comes across as an extremely delightful gentleman. http://www.avclub.com/article/kurtwood-smith-talks-robocop-and-nude-scenes-then--201908

    3 Ninjas (1992)

The three sequels were executive produced by legendary South Korean director Shin Sang-ok (under the name Simon Sheen), who was kidnapped with his wife on the orders of Kim Jong-il, held captive in North Korea, forced to make films glorifying the DPRK including the Communist Godzilla movie Pulgasari before they managed to escape in 1986. http://www.theguardian.com/film/2003/apr/04/artsfeatures1
