hate to break it to you, but it's a been a recurring joke for just about everybody in comedy for quite awhile now... it was 14 years ago and, although it doesn't mean what happened that day was any less horrible, being able to laugh about it is a sign of acceptance and, ultimately, healing. I'm not disputing the fact that it's somewhat cheap, or even borderline hack at this point... however, creating an account on the forums with the express purpose of being sanctimonious about it is just absurd. correct me if I'm wrong, but it always seems that the first person in line to admonish someone for making light of a tragedy is the furthest person from actually being effected by it in any tangible way.

EPISODE 247.5 — 8/28/15 TWO CHARTED 186
hypnotizingchickens replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Who Charted?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBRdOYsMpxQ this is the second BAD reference on an Earwolf podcast this month... and it just so happens that Tighten Up is my favorite album by them (aside from their Kool-Aid/Globe stuff) I feel like Mick Jones is physically incapable of making a bad record. as much as I love Joe, Paul and Topper, he was the glue that held the Clash together in my opinion... for better or for worse (just give Cut the Crap a listen... jeeeeeez) if only he were producing the new Libertines album... oh well (also, I can't wait for the new Deafheaven... props to Stard for giving us a taste) -

of all the fan-made music stings on the show, I think the Cage one is my favorite (despite always having to turn it down a little bit when....... wait, I'm being one of those people that complain about volume inconsistencies on podcasts... *single gunshot*) reminds me of the band Fear, especially the "CAGE MAAADE MY LIFE BETTER..." line http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyM4uAJBujA -
EPISODE 10 - Jason Mantzoukas - Spotlight On: Eric "Gutterballs" Gutterman

the fact that no one has photoshopped Zouks' face onto Slave Leia's body yet is fucking bewildering... I know this ep dropped a little unexpectedly... but get it together, people. -

trick question... you should probably start with the (re-re-re-) reality SHOW show (show show show) if you want to be a true Shawn and Haze fan. -

some serious Steven Brody Stevens Festival of Friendship (it's a funny podcast, listen and enjoy it) vibes in this ep.... especially the "I could pause right now and eat a piece of fruit" bit. -

I'm sure the same goes for the Furious 7 episode of HDTGM... it's funny how much Earwolf relies on that little butt being in the studio.- 5 replies

EPISODE 12 - The Waiting Room at An Oil Change Place
hypnotizingchickens replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
it's great to hear Mike on another Earwolf podcast... I saw him back in 2012 with Busdriver and, having no prior knowledge of his work, was pleasantly surprised at how talented of an emcee he is. I don't go to hip hop shows very often, but that one was the best and most intimate I've seen in recent memory. on another note, was Paul under the weather while recording this ep? his voice sounded noticeably deeper to me... and seeing his bow tie undone in the pictures was very disconcerting. edit: upon further inspection, it appears that this is a regular occurrence. I don't blame him at all... truly great improv does require full range of motion neck-wise. -

Ask Paul!
hypnotizingchickens replied to Paul F. Tompkins's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
this question isn't exactly specific to this show, but I've always wanted to ask a podcaster something and this is the first opportunity that has presented itself... due to the fact that there are SO many podcasts out there that I've subscribed to, I have resigned myself to listening to them at 2x the speed (on an iPhone, this translates to roughly 1.5x or so) just so I have the time to actually listen to them all. from what I've read, the human brain can receive information much, much faster than it can produce it, so it's very easy to get used to things being sped up. now for the actual question: does this notion offend or upset you in any way, especially since there's a musical component to your show? -
EPISODE 111.5 — Minisode 111.5
hypnotizingchickens replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
something else to that effect: one of the first scenes in the movie involved two aliens having a nice walk-and-talk, as they are wont to do, and I recall one of them describing something as "humane" (can't remember what exactly). I can usually suspend my disbelief when it comes to the concept of races from other planets speaking English in sci-fi movies and tv shows, but using an adjective that comes directly from the word "human" was a bit of a stretch. -
EPISODE 111.5 — Minisode 111.5

all nonsense aside, I had a legitimate laugh when she insisted on changing clothes while actually conscious for once in the movie. that being said, I don't think I've ever seen a film in which it was so glaringly apparent that anything interesting happening on-screen was computer generated. seriously, I could watch Mila Kunis apathetically swat at invisible bees all day long... and Channing Tatum flying around in those boots gave me flashbacks to playing hours and hours of Jet Set Radio, especially in regards to his expert arm-work.
