Episode 172 - The Last Dragon: LIVE!

Old topic from an earlier episode but I can confirm amazingly.... porno mags found left in the woods, is still a thing in 2017. Went for a walk today in the woods in New Jersey and someone left 2 porno mags on the trail. I wanted to take a picture, but was further disturbed by the near by towel and droppings of unknown origin.

Episode 172 - The Last Dragon: LIVE!

I didn't catch any mention of the Last Dragon song. Of note, this appears in an episode of the Sarah Silverman episode Humanitarian of the Year where Brian Posehn is claiming to be taking marital arts but refusing to show his skills until the end when he beats up crazy homeless guy Zack Galifinakis who is attacking Steve Agee. The song was also used by wrestler Jimmy Yang between stints at WWE when working for Ring of Honor in 2005-2006. On at least one show in New York City, Taimak actually appeared in at the show in Jimmy's corner to counter his opponent's manager.

    Episode 171.5 - Minisode 171.5

To tie it into the Hogan link that jumped us on onto Kinnikuman, according to the wiki, Neptuneman was inspired by Hogan (seems like he used the Axe Bomber in the various clips I've seen on YouTube.

    Episode 171.5 - Minisode 171.5

If I know two things, it's birds and pro-wrestling: Owls in Miami: According to ebird data (a citizen scientist type bird tracking program run through Cornell University's Lab of Ornithology), Miami-Dade County gets the following species: Barn Owl Great Horned Owl Barred Owl Eastern Screech-Owl Burrowing Owl Short-eared Owl Most of the owl species in the past have been found on Key Biscayne (there's a bunch of woods) and in Coral Gable's Matheson Hammock Park. If it's a hooting owl, it's probably the Great Horned Owl or maybe a Barred Owl. Now, taking into account the movie is actually filmed in Orlando, that's are a lot of more Barred and Great Horned Owl reports for that area, probably due to a less compact city with houses on top of one another. Hulk Hogan in Japan: I'm guessing this is probably a compilation of Hulk Hogan matches for New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Before signing full time with the WWF in the 80's, Hogan would work various tours of New Japan Pro-Wrestling where he was one of the top foreigners. At times, getting a gig as a regular outside talent was usually a very high paying job, tours would be for a two weeks or so and often guys could pick and choose where they would work stateside in between the tours. Hogan would work there between 1980 and 1985, including a few appearances when he was the WWF champion. Hogan even had a song written about him: https://youtu.be/BJigJNkwqEo Rev Ray

    Episode 132 - Bloodsport: LIVE!

Just throwing out this extended version of Fight to Survive to boost Jason's workouts: A little sad we didn't get round 2 of "What is a street fighter" as I feel this movie and master of the flying guillotine both influenced Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat.

    Episode 210.5 — 12/12/14 TWO CHARTED 149

RE: Howard's Hummingbirds Hummingbirds can be year round residents in Los Angeles. He may be getting hummingbirds that nest further north and winter in the area. Since he mentioned red, it could be an Anna's Hummingbird, Allen's Hummingbird or Rufous Hummingbird. Anna's and Allen's seem to be the most common reported in the area, Rufous much less so.
  7. If there were questions on "who came up with Battle of the Tough Guys" and "Sports for Kids", Hogan had some "creative" control in WCW. The name of the 8 man team facing him and Randy Savage? The Alliance to End Hulkamania.
  8. Random notes from this : - WWF ran red carpet promos for this on their syndicated shows. If I'm not mistaken, like Zeus, they had Fuller stay in character as Mr. Brell. He of course, had bad guy comments about how the movie portrayed him poorly... nevermind the fact he dies in the movie. - As mentioned at the show, Tiny Lister showed up as Zeus in WWF and teamed Randy Savage against Hulk Hogan in a cage match to promote the debut of the movie on PPV, advertised as the Match! The Movie! It led to this "classic" promo with the late Sherri Martel and Macho Man and Zeus. Pay special attention to the stealthy Sherri after she climbs the cage. - The song that plays in the Rip pie fight is "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight" by Hank Williams Jr. This is also the song that got reworked in the Monday Night Football theme before Williams got in hot water by making comments about Obama. - Lugwrench was played by Jeep Swenson, who was a wrestler and played Bane in the equally crappy Batman and Robin. Also of note, both Tiny Lister and Jeep Swenson returned to wrestling in 1996 as part of a team at WCW Uncensored '96. Because this was not a WWF even, Zeus was renamed "Z-Gangsta" and Swenson was The Ultimate Solution, renamed from the Final Solution after someone figured out it probably wasn't a good idea to name someone after the program Hitler planned to kill off the Jews with. *Edit* I apologize if the video link isn't working, but if it doesn't come up Google Randy Savage Zeus cage promo. It is well worth the minute and change it is to see this. I'm sure it's 90% of the reason Zeus became the president of earth in the future.
