    EPISODE 118 - Furious 7: LIVE

Haven't listened to the podcast yet, but Furious 7 is easily in my top 10 of the year so far. It's so much fun and I actually think these films are a lot more self-aware than people give them credit for, despite Diesel clearly labouring under the delusion that he's in a high art. All that said, F7 is, for me, behind parts 6 and 5 in my own personal rankings. Mainly because that no matter how crazy the action was in the Lin era films, you always had a clear idea of what was happening. Lin was a really fantastic action director and you always knew what was happening, and if my memory serves me correctly he mostly refrained from CGI. With Furious 7 I don't think Wan was as adept with the staging of the action and some scenes suffered from wobbly camera work and choppy editing. I think it's that style that hampered the Statham VS Rock fight, which should have been awesome and epic. But it's still a really fun watch, and I wasn't expecting a Furious movie to make me cry.

    U Talkin' Furious 7 2 Me?

EPISODE 116 — Top Dog: LIVE!

This got a 15 rating in the UK (broadly equivalent to the R rating), which totally excludes its target demographic from seeing it. But yeah, it's next level terrible. Has Chuck Norris ever been in an honest to goodness really good movie? I only kinda enjoyed The Delta Force but only because it didn't seem to be aware of how jingoistic and fascistic it was being.

Episode 109 - FACE OFF: LIVE!

There are myriad plot holes in this film, but there's one that always bugged me... Gina Gershon's character, who we find out had at least a sexual relationship with Troy, really doesn't bat an eyelid when Troy - a cold blooded, psychopathic criminal with a tongue sucking fetish - does a 360 degree turn from being the aforementioned psycho to a sympathetic and contrite man. Indeed, the only time she thinks something is up is when Archer as Troy comments on Troy's clothes, and even then that's quickly forgotten about. And I always found it weird that film asks us to sympathize with her when she's killed by Troy as Archer. Fuck her; she was fraternizing with a next level, cuckoo bananas killer.

    EPISODE 105 — Safe Haven

Considering the things Jason has confessed he came to, I don't think he's in any position to call us out.

EPISODE 337 — The Ying and the Yankovic

For obvious reasons this has been a difficult two weeks, so I'd to personally thank Sco-Auk and the fine folks at Earwolf for continuing to make motherfuckers laugh. Haven't spun this ep yet but Wengert, the legendary Weird Al and PFT never fail to bring the funny.
  7. This series started off strong with Public Domain and has been mainly good if a little spotty with the subsequent eps, but this one was just so great. I'm a relatively new listener to HH (Hollywood Handbook abbreviated to two letters to save space) and I've been a big fan of Lapkus for some time, so when I saw the title in my podcast app I was stoked to listen and it didn't disappoint. Lapkus is an utter delight, sharp witted and playful, while Clements and Davenport are a pair of real funny fuckers. Mucho kudos to all involved.

    Episode 331 — Secret Superlatives

I know I'm late to the party on this but I'd like to point out that Mary Holland is a force for good in this universe. Thanks.

Episode 324 — Golden Duchess Cruise Lines

I have to say in terms of how male members regard women on an internet msg/comment board, this is one of the most respectful places on the internet I've come across. Do you know how rare that it is on the internet? It's like happening upon a U2 song that doesn't make you want to put knitting needles down your ear canals.

Episode 324 — Golden Duchess Cruise Lines

Scott Aukerman has a massive fucking dong. And Colin Hanks has a purty mouth. There, consider this playing field well and truly level.

    Episode 312 — Grounded Me@

Jesus, Lauren Lapkus is just so funny, quick-witted and out right adorable. She seems to be on quite a lot these days, but I don't mind because she never fails to make me laugh. Andy Samberg is someone I can take or leave but he made laugh on this so it's all good.
  12. My top 10 REM songs, because you're all just dying to know this... 1. It's the End of the World As We Know it (And I Feel Fine) 2. Talk About the Passion 3. Exhuming McCarthy 4. So. Central Rain 5. World Leader Pretend 6. What's the Frequency, Kenneth 7. Fall On Me 8. Near Wild Heaven 9. Undertow 10. Country Feedback Is there anything we can do to get Scott and Scottrick to make an REM podcast?

    Episode 305 — CattleLickItUp

This is the first time I have heard Howard and Kulap on a podcast (haven't listened to Who Charted yet), and I have to say his Gu Cruise song made me lol hard and I thought she was utterly delightful. Gino was next level funny, also. Scottrick was... eh, fine I guess.
  14. Long time listener, first time commenter. This was a fun companion podcast to an otherwise boring, witless and desperate attempt at b-movie cult status. But then again I thought the first film was about as much fun as root canal work with a rusty hacksaw and no anesthetic, so I had no right to expect anything better. Keep up the good work, June D, Zooks and Paul. I know for obvious reasons you can't churn out the podcasts with the same kind of frequency you did before, but HDTGM is still one of my faves. And hearing your new kid cooing and gurgling in the background? Fucking adorable.

Episode 190 — Slap Dat Cheese

    Lennon Parham... *heartfelt sigh*

Episode 300 — Oh, Golly! You Devil

You'd think by now that Zooks and Choctaw have learned that doing a podcast together is not a good idea. It will only end in chaos, violence and a man throwing himself out of a window.
  17. And it should be called; "U Talkin' About the Passion to Me?"... I'll get my coat...
  18. I'm not the world's biggest fan of U2 (Achtung Baby has some OK songs, but their output is mostly beige, overly-earnest tripe), but this is seriously one of the funniest podcasts out there right now and Staind Glass topped the first "Slowing it Down" as my fave of the batch so far. EDIT: Also - I with Adam on his opinion on Staind's Break the Cycle. I used to love that shit back in the day, but listening to it now it sounds like the same ol' interchangeable nu-metal sludge that was so popular back in the early noughties. I mean, apart from Outside and It's Been Awhile it all sounds the same, basically. Podcast suggestions for the Scotts: U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 Me? U Talkin' Talk Talk 2 Me?
