EPISODE 189 — Apes Will Fight If We Must
sophieee replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
I just don't get how Doug's whole claim to fame is "getting on a tasteless level" and yelling at that trumpet guy and then he tells Matt to just keep his mouth shut and rise above it through TM or something similar. Sounded like a sales pitch. I love listening to Doug. Talking to weirdo strangers is my past time, but I wish Matt would have said something about his trumpet outburst and how it went against what he was saying. I'm sure if Matt would have brought that point up, it would have been some scripted holier than thou stuff that was most of Doug's speech but it would have been worth a shot. Also, that person blocking Doug in the elevator story sounds like he left out a huge chunk of the story. It's really rare that someone who can hold down an apartment is that crazy to do that for no reason. Matt, just fucking yell at him. You know that's what you want and that's UCB performers and fans want. I'll volunteer to be I4H's spirit animal and give you all the answers since I nailed this one. Call me. -
glad to have this episode, but I LOLed hard at the timing of this

i'd love a bit where matt turns on ucb-ers and stop booking them for his show completely for a couple months

EPISODE 187 — Wild Horses III: Gossipy Elephants
sophieee replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
SO SAD THIS IS OVER. totally though matt as talking about gummo at first until he started talking about his daughter -
They may be genuine laughs but it doesn't really give me much of a chance to think about if I really find it funny or if I should feel like I missed something if I'm not laughing along with the laugh track. I may not be as committed to re-listening for the nuances of these characters, but pretty much any PFT character with an elevated English accent sounds the same to me and doesn't really have a consistent enough personality to make them different from each other. I continue to listen just to prove myself wrong and get back to when I used to laugh REALLY hard at PFT and Scott going back and forth. Also, whoops at making souprman fly off the handle here. I think it's ironic that he/she started with talking about how boring "diary posts" are and yet emotionally reacted to every reply he/she got as if we gave a shit about how mad people who disagree with him/her make him/her.

Really feel this but just don't bother talking about it much on the forum. I get that everyone loves PFT but I'm exhausted by him feeding of the fanboy-dom at this point. Every appearance runs together, him laughing on the pod seems kinda like an easy laugh like breaking on SNL or something, the characters don't have that much to them (a southern swamp weirdo just seems cheap and not much more than an accent), and it seems like he kisses CBBs ass at this point to get more appearances. I get an amateur's notes on a forum are pointless but I just wanted to be clear I'm not hating just to hate - I do have thoughts behind it and kinda sigh to myself at this point when I see he's on ANOTHER podcast this year. I've laughed plenty at PFT and I'm not saying he's not funny and never was. The Richard Harrow character made me lose my mind. I've watched that VPN video many times. I might just need a break and am fine with skipping these episodes. I'm honestly just trying to open up a discussion and let Sanjay know he's not alone. If I get crucified for this, well, what did I really expect?

GOD when Kevin is like "BOYS GET UPSTAIRS" I freaking busted a gut.
-
Redacted previous post because there's no reason for me to volunteer humiliating things about myself on the Internet. I will say this is a very relatable episode for anyone who grew up with an alcoholic.
-
this guest being completely humorless and so set on getting his message across was THE FUNNIEST part. just think of him as a character and this episode rules
-
Well, he's been in 4 episodes in 3 months so if you need more, go to one of those other episodes. I was actually glad he popped in for only a minute.

I seriously can't stand that the go to person that Harris hates the most was Hugh Laurie HAHAHAHA -
Didn't Kulap say the interns Patrick and Chris actually worked on this? They need some love too.

This hurts soooo much now that it's over. I wanted to know what Harris was going to do in New York. He was brilliant and I know he was just getting started. The addiction problems makes it hurt so much worse. He will be missed and thank you so much for this episode. RIP Harris - this broke my heart. "ALRIGHT LET'S PLAY ONE OF YOUR DUMB FUCKING GAMES. I'LL START. HEY! WOULD YOU RATHER FUCKING - EAT A DOG WITH CHOPSTICKS OR READ AN EMAIL CHAIN" Harris mad RULES.- 369 replies

EPISODE 174 — Whiplash Ft. Armen
sophieee replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
This cracked me up but hurt so bad. I had flashbacks of trying to do standup and how my jokes probably don't even deserve notes. Had a lil privileged PTSD type of morning. -
I can't buhleeb that JW Stillwater beat Tiny and Victor's podcast

Episode 163 — Eric the Paid Intern Returns: LIVE at the UCBSunset
sophieee replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
I vote the music and the case closed thing out. I fast forward and listen to the show despite it, but if you're honestly asking I think it's kind of distracting. I won't stop listening to improv4humans if you decide to keep it. It's your show. But I come for the improv and these suggestions (music, case close segments) take over the show instead letting the improv have the spotlight. I think that's why it's shutting a significant number of listeners off. Or at least enough for us to have to talk about it. I guess you could say that for any segment on the show but for some reason the music and the debating is so much more affecting. It changes the mood of the show altogether and takes away from the lighthearted nature of the improv segments. This might be too abstract, but it takes a lot more psychological energy for me to shift gears from a love/intense/sad song or an opinion I don't agree with at all to improv.
