Even for them the series has jumped the shark....
-
That can't do Torque, Adam Scott is a friend of the show.
Â
My five would be:
Â
1) Razor Blade Smile
2) The Darkest Hour
3) Dune (I do love this movie though)
4) Species
5) Good Luck Chuck

When I saw the tweet about The Apple, I thought the other one had to be "Phantom Of The Paradise".....
-
I love this doc, I didn't quite get the Jon Peters phonecall scene, but I think it's in there to make him look like the nutball that Kevin Smith and everyone else made him out to be.
Â
I think that the movie would have been great, hopefully far superior to the epically dumb Man Of Steel.
-
The Go-Go Boys, I have it to watch, and I suspect it's not going to be as fun.
-
I loved that documentary "Electric Boogaloo" that and the one about the greatest story of all all time, Nicolas Cage superman "The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened" if you like these kind of documentary's you should also check out "
Â
Goddamn, I loved that Superman Documentary. I wanted to see that film! Would have kicked the ass of Man Of Steel, frankly.

Where to start....
Â
Considering that Superman IV: The Quest For Peace was shown on UK TV this evening, that should be near the top of their Cannon list.
Â
My personal favourite is Death Wish III. But The Apple, Ninja III: Domination, Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo should all be on the list.

Also, I now wonder if Eric Prydz's "Call on Me" Music Video has something to do reference wise with "Perfect"?

Also, great episode.

Those of a certain age in the UK will also recognise famous footballers (soccer players, ugh) in various roles. Aside from Pele and Bobby Moore, there's John Wark, Russell Osman, in fact, all of the 1980 Ipswich Town team. Paul Cooper (the Ipswich goalkeeper) doubled for Stallone in some scenes.

I love love love this movie. Bizarre, fun and terrible all rolled into one.
-
TBF, I've only ever seen the Rifftrax version of this.... And it's bloody good!

The fun game to play during this movie is to spot the location, New York or London. The London scenes stick out like sore thumbs it's ridiculous.
Â
Also, special mention to Jimmy Page's re-cycled score from DWII.
Â
Also also, Marina Sirtis getting gang-raped by Bill from Bill & Ted, among others....
-
I love this fucking movie. It came out when I was ten. I'm 30 now. I am not exaggerating when I say that I've seen this movie at least 200 times. I think I'll be hurt if they do this movie.
Â
Â
I love this movie too, my only hope is that it's done like a Furious 7/Con Air thing, where they admit that this movie is awesome!

This movie is 45% montage....

I've seen this one.... All I remember is Kirstie Alley in this. I must've blocked out the rest....
-
I agree with this... It's like a checklist. So many movies, and THIS one is batshit insane!
-
The documentary is "Electric Boogaloo: The Wild Untold Story Of Cannon Films", and is a checklist of HDTGM movies for the next decade. Anyone would want them to do "The Apple" or "Ninja III: Domination", or "Superman IV: The Quest For Peace", or "Death Wish 3", the list goes on, and on....
-
I watched "Electric Boogaloo: The Wild Untold Story Of Cannon Films" (which is a documentary of every film that HDTGM should do), and this was in it, being a shot-for-shot remake of the Isreali "Lemon Popcicle" movie... Measuring scene and all...

Paul Scheer was on an episode of James Bonding (On Her Majesty's Secret Service) and I started listening to the show after that. I can't remember which show was the "latest" at the time, but I think it was also the time around the "Howdies". I tend to binge-listen to shows and always enjoy ones which cheer me up. Suckerpunch is a big favourite for me, especially as I had such a negative reaction to that movie...

I need to watch this one again. Purely for the "Bond" figure being murdered at a Rammstein concert....
-
Is anyone else surprised that the 1st Gene Simmons appearance on HDTGM is not KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park?
Â
That. Right there!
-
Check out Kermode's review of Entourage, it's fair to say, he's not a fan...:
Â
Â
"Hate filled consumerist propaganda"....

There's an episode of F This Movie! on Robocop 2. http://www.fthismovie.net/2014/12/f-this-movie-robocop-2.html
Â
I remember loving this when it came out, and watching it recently, I saw how disjointed a mess it was.... Nancy Allen was treated very poorly by Irvin Kirshner, the movie has too many threads, and drops them without cause or reason... Also, the scene in which Hob dies, tries to to make us feel sorry for a snotty little psychopathic brat who killed indiscriminately in the first reel....
-
And it had TWO Alice in Chains songs on it! It was an amazing soundtrack full of songs by bands I was into at the time that still hold up. I was allllllll about Alice In Chains, Megadeth, the new John Bush version of Anthrax, Fishbone, Cypress Hill, and then the AC/DC track was solid, and the inclusion of the live version of Aerosmith's "Dream On" from the MTV anniversary show was much appreciated. The only soundtrack from this time that I MIGHT still listen to more is "Judgment Night".
Â
I was at the gig in 1993 where Megadeth played "Angry Again" for the first time, still a great song. Judgment Night is terrific soundtrack, less so the movie.... Also, Spawn, soundtrack = good, movie = terrible.
