    Episode 135 - Solarbabies: LIVE!

CORRECTIONS: In the Wendy's ad, Paul says that sauce made from ghost peppers is the hottest sauce known to mankind. According to the Scoville heat scale, ghost peppers are approximately 1,000,000 SHU (Scoville Heat Units) while the hottest Carolina Reaper pepper ever recorded was approximately 2,200,000 SHU. There are various sauces that are much spicier than sauces made from ghost peppers. Paul mentions how the warden must have been from a "hotter planet", but he misspoke since this doesn't make any sense in the context of what he was saying. If anything, the warden came from a time that the planet was much cooler which would certainly help explain why he looks like he's melting and is inexplicably still wearing a full suit. OMISSIONS: Several of these actors appeared together in other films, such as Lost Boys, but one actor has the distinction of appearing in another How Did This Get Made film: Jason Patric was the male lead in Speed 2. How did they not discuss that rolling tire escape from Tiretown?! FUCK. THAT! What a ridiculous decision by both the characters and filmmakers. This movie cost 7.5 million to make and it made 1.5 million. ... All things considered, I'm really glad I watched this movie. Although the end was a mess, I thought the premise had so much promise and there are certain aspects I really enjoyed (although the parts I enjoyed were just ripped off from other movies from that time). With this premise, they could have made a legitimately good movie and I wish they went in a completely different direction where the Solarbabies were given powers by Bodai (who my friend called Butt-Eye, and you can't judge him because Butt-Eye speaks to him differently like Rabbit) instead of just curing deafness. I can imagine how the scenes could've played out in places like that gypsy village or Tiretown, or of course the finale, if the teens had special powers. That would be a much better movie, rather than dicking around on rollerskates and pushing tires around. "If they found E.T. they would be like 'oh, let's fuckin, let's fuck him in the ass'" - one of the funniest things I've ever heard on HDTGM. Mulaney was making a great point too, I thought the same thing: why the fuck would they go directly to destroying this magic orb? Sure, maybe they want to keep a monopoly on the water, but the magical alien powers could've potentially been exploited in different ways. This thing created rain in a closed room and is potentially a source of infinite water... They truly did fuck that in the ass. Finally, to the 5-star review that said they wish they could access more movies from that time (1986), I'd like to say fuck you. Aliens (the best in the franchise), Top Gun, Platoon, Labyrinth, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Big Trouble in Little China, Stand By Me, Howard The Duck (HDTGM), Maximum Overdrive (HDTGM), Little Shop of Horrors, Highlander, An American Tail, Crocodile Dundee, The Fly, Pretty In Pink, Blue Velvet, Short Circuit, and of course Star Trek IV would also like to say fuck you.

Episode 418 - Paul Reiser and The Apple Tree

Doesn't Jason Mantzoukas hate mouth sounds? I'd love to know what he thought of the song. I laughed so much this episode, I even laughed right when it became clear what Willy was coming in because I love that character so much. What a man brat. It was a great interview with Paul too, and he played along perfectly with Victor/Tiny/Willy.

Episode 235 - Death of a Gorgeous Shirt: Live at UCB Sunset

Great episode, I just thought I'd quote this because it also baffles me. Hillary Clinton is a criminal plutocrat in the pockets of wall street and the fossil fuel industry with a horrible track record of supporting war crimes, being socially regressive, and flipflopping on important issues. That being said, she has been the next president since before she announced her candidacy; the powers that be chose her awhile ago and the voter suppression/fraud in the primaries is just further proof of that. Isn't this more fun than talking about a comedy podcast and how hilarious this episode was?

Episode 131 - Jake and Amir, Our Close Friends

I just said last week how it would be amazing if Jake and Amir were guests on CBB... This'll do, pig. This'll do just fine.

Episode 134 - Can't Stop the Music: LIVE!

That's nothing! I just sat through 10 hours of In The Army Now and missed my chance to talk about cookies.

Episode 416 - Silicone Bralley Poo Crew

I agree 100% that what people enjoy or are offended by is subjective, and I didn't mean to imply that there are absolutes when it comes to taste in comedy or what's funny. I mean when somebody says they are offended, others are equally "entitled" to point out how that's ridiculous. I definitely shouldn't have added "objectively" into that sentence, because during my rant I forgot that the guy didn't say "that is offensive" or "that is wrong", he was just saying that he finds it offensive/tasteless. We can't tell him he's not offended, but we can attempt to point out how he's wrong; I don't believe anyone is entitled to being offended without their stance being criticized, and that's the mentality that I had such a strong reaction to. It's like the idea that people are entitled to their opinions, as if that somehow validates their opinions even if they are wrong. It doesn't. Also, in terms of using the acronym SJW, I really don't see anything wrong with it if it's useful in describing a pervasive mentality among people in our society and especially on the internet. There are other ways to describe it, but I find it a useful term to let people know exactly the kind of person you're talking about. People who think Kumail is legitimately insulted by the China character should check out the video of him and Middleditch doing a very similar bit at Meltdown, about how the accent isn't racist if Middleditch is just playing a white guy who was raised in China. I can't find a link to it, but I promise it exists. Calling something offensive is one thing, but presuming offense for someone else is even worse. Again, great ep! I feel shitty for derailing the thread with my rant, but I had to get that out. Maybe not the right place, but I'm getting really sick of it and have been for awhile.

Episode 416 - Silicone Bralley Poo Crew

No, no no no, FUCKING NO. What you just said, even though it was couched in how you enjoy the bit, is everything wrong with today's perpetually offended SJW mentality. You absolutely can tell somebody they are wrong for being offended, because nobody is entitled to that whiny bullshit. People are itching, in fact they are clawing at their own faces, waiting for something to be offended by, so they can take some moral highground and preach about how wrong something is. For the last few years we have faced an unprecedented shift in attitude, where somehow emotion is much more important than reason, where someone being offended or triggered somehow trumps common sense, rationality, diversity of opinion and any semblance of logical thought. Nobody is ever entitled to be offended, unless we also accept that everyone else is entitled to call them a fucking idiot and point out how they are objectively wrong. This is COMEDY, so people can take their attempts at PC censorship, concentrate hard enough until it manifests into a physical object, and then fuck themselves with it. By the way, amazing episode. I could listen to the Silicon Valley crew, particularly Middleditch, for hours and hours. Is there a reason TJ Miller has never been on? He's the only piece of this puzzle that's missing, and I think he'd mesh with CBB famously. Also Zach Woods, he's great on Improv 4 Humans. Completely unrelated except for some crossover between the comedians, but I also wonder if there are any plans to have Jake and Amir on Comedy Bang Bang. I think they'd be amazing guests.

Episode 416 - Silicone Bralley Poo Crew

It took about 21 minutes... Scott's brain is the best brain. I don't remember when I made the switch, but yeah I tend to go for Spontaneanation first these days. So many great episodes that I used to think Savannah Georgia was my favorite but now I can't choose, but then again it's been that way for awhile. I'm already glad I went for CBB this week though, and I'm only about 1/4 of the way into it.

Episode 416 - Silicone Bralley Poo Crew

It's been awhile since I've listened to a Monday CBB before a Spontaneanation, but it's about to happen. Not playing favorites... Just speaking my truth. My group therapist/MDMA dealer tells me that's what I should do.

Episode 134 - Can't Stop the Music: LIVE!

"I just saved money on car insurance that's so progressive" was my favorite, but he had like a dozen other amazing one-liners. I wish I could remember them all... I wrote that one down so I never forget it. Jason's reactions were great too.

Episode 134 - Can't Stop the Music: LIVE!

I've experienced this before on the forums. I expressed how I thought Cameron Esposito was two-dimensional and unfunny in a Comedy Bang Bang episode, and I was called a misogynist, homophobic, comedy-policing bigot. I've since realized that this isn't the place to express our negative feelings about an episode or a guest, and we should just keep our feedback back-fed to other forums. Earwolf is a place for positive feedback only, unless you want to be tarred and feathered. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, I also enjoy an environment of positivity and support, but I'm just pointing it out because that's the way it is around here.

I had a similar and yet very different reaction: I read "Gino" and my brain got a boner.

Episode 414 - Hollywood Handbook Comedy! (Hollywood Edition)

Thank you for also using Comic Sans, Greggy. #AllFontsMatter
  14. This was something really special, and it ended in a way that definitely leaves it open to a sequel. I lost it when they came back and admitted that they had kissed during the break, that just elevated everything. Very slow donkey death, dead tooth causing a dead eye, the dead brother (just realizing how much death was in this...); this was a 10/10 episode!

    Website Makeover!

Easier and more efficient avatar uploading. It barely ever works, even with the right dimensions and file size. The ability to delete your own posts. I'll add more as I think of them. All of Podney Dangerfield's ideas are great, I definitely love the idea of being able to search through episodes based on characters and other tags. Right now I use the CBB Wiki for that.
  16. When I saw this posted as a new Spont episode, I was really hoping for Episode 4 of TMSoUBB. Well, I guess it's time to get that free trial of Howl.

Episode 41 - Musical; Theater with Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber

What in the beautiful fuck is this? I was about to go to bed but now I'm going to program some more and listen to this until I answer my own question. EDIT: 9 minutes in, and I didn't realize how much I needed this until just now as it's happening to me. More edits to follow. EDIT 2: This has all been hilarious so far and I still can't believe this is a thing, but I only came back to say that I'm pretty sure Gino is right about North, Central and South America. EDIT 3: The idea of a narcissist who can't even imagine history without them there, and always eating the food of the time, is a hilarious and actually thoughtful concept because I swear I know some people who are probably actually that narcissistic. EDIT 4, PROBABLY FINAL: It's crazy how good the chemistry is between these two; whoever decided to make this a podcast deserves a firm pat on the back.

    Episode 409 - Man Brats

I'm genuinely surprised to see so much hate for this episode! Their bratty meltdowns made me laugh so hard and some of the backstory was amazing too, like the whole thing with Wayne Knight or Bryce's different airlines. I actually intend to listen to this one again, mostly for the meltdowns. This reminds me of when a bunch of people hated on Willy Mapleton and I thought he was amazing, especially because Willy is definitely a man brat.

    Heynongman

I JUST CAME HERE TO CREATE THIS VERY THREAD!!! It was already a great episode, but this part was just too much for me to handle. I really hope they bring it up the next time he's on CBB, I honestly can't believe that just happened. I also hope he's a new part of the cast on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, at the very least for a few more episodes. I think his character could fit in just fine if it was a permanent thing, but I get the feeling he's going to snap really soon.

Episode 406 - Kid Detectives II

"Slaves give me the heebs" I paused the episode just to come here and type that so I never, ever forget it.

    Episode 405 - Space Chemistry

Jillian makes me laugh almost every single time she speaks in Workaholics, so it was really nice to find out that she's delightful in an interview. Everyone was great in this episode and like Kickpuncher said above, it's very enjoyable when new guests mesh with the show so well. I also loved the Grandma Tarkin reference, since that was Gourley's unfinished business as Ian Fleming two Christmasses ago.

What should I listen to next?

Improv 4 Humans, How Did This Get Made, Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project, Topics, Mike Detective. Outside of Earwolf, I highly recommend Thrilling Adventure Hour if you're not already a fan. As for which one to start with, I'd definitely say Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project because it's a relatively small amount of content to get through and it's absolutely amazing, and apparently there are plans for more in the near future. Out of the ones you listed, I have to say How Did This Get Made. Paul, Jason and June have legendary chemistry and it's a great excuse to watch some shitty and sometimes amazing movies.
