    Episode 525 - 2017 Holiday Spectacular

one has to assume that Adomian and Rory Scovel are the primary audience for the reverb-laden live drum performances over Todd's PA system

    Episode 525 - 2017 Holiday Spectacular

Adomian elicited the craziest laughing fits I've had all year with this appearance. So unexpected and incredible. Thank you Scott for continuing to invite him and thanks James for bringing it so hard even though you're busier than ever.

    Episode 424 - Almost Parasites

She's talking about Hollywood and how female actresses can't get roles after a certain age. It's riffing on conversations like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPpsI8mWKmg Seems to fit in right with Berlant's whole aesthetic. Glad she is finally a part of the CBB canon! She's fantastic. Scott definitely tried to pick on her because she was a bit jittery out of the gates, but she settled in. Drew Tarver is a fucking lunatic and it's great.

    Episode 426 - Schwartz & Schwarts

Can anyone ID the woman who sat in on the recording from the episode photos? Is that Horatio's wife?
  5. In taking my yearly pilgrimage to 2 Talk Town by listening to every episode in order, I stumbled across this new Hugh2 news: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/edge-u2-have-50-ideas-for-next-album-20160329 The very possibility that new U2 touring/material could provoke another episode recording is a joyous enough feeling to warrant this post. Thanks Scotts for the greatest podcasting story of all time that wasn't told week to week.
  6. I think one more year of these episodes and I'll finally figure out which one is Sean and which one is Hayes

    Episode 419 - The 7th Anniversary Show!

I think this episode might be the "Brodown Hoedown" that Scott & Jason have been talking about for years
  8. Jason has been one of my favorite Earwolf/comedian personalities for awhile, but the interview at the top of this episode really drew me in even further. My parents are fairly hippyish and I'm from California, but I related immensely to the stuff about emotional stoicism in his family. I related to having a younger sister you try wrestling moves on. I realized we both say "you know?!" after we make statements that we want people to understand. Jason, YA GREAT.

Episode 416 - Silicone Bralley Poo Crew

Please explain to us how what's funny and/or offensive is totally objective and based on rationality? That's an insane POV, to me. What people enjoy or are offended by seems to me to be wholly subjective. I am very against censorship and promote free expression, but this is the kind of talk that gives a bad name to people who believe that comedy is a thoughtful and necessary way to push boundaries in society.

Episode 416 - Silicone Bralley Poo Crew

Anyone else catch how Martin actually DID start doing a stereotypical South Asian voice right at Kumail? I'm trying to find a time stamp on it right now, someone post it if you remember. It was in the background and only for a hot minute. The inherent funniness vs the low hanging stereotype fruit of the "Asian accent" is great at highlighting the fundamental tensions in comedy. I struggle to intellectualize the issue all the time because it really isn't intellectual why many people enjoy it--we like laughing at "the other". It's not to say that the other is bad, just different. And different is funny. Personally, I feel like Middleditch has enough interesting wrinkles that play against the type to keep things interesting. Like someone mentioned earlier, if it was just talking about being a bad driver and doing math it would be even more problematic. I think jokes about doing tai chi instead of kung fu and "fat boy" are more nuanced.

    Episode 408 - LIVE at SXSW 2016

I dislike the circle jerkiness of the Earwolf boards, so I won't cut you down for expressing an opinion. Thanks for having one! But I will say that Gino Lambardo is my favorite CBB character of all time and its not close.

Episode 401 - LOVE Is Thicker Than Water

i would love to see Alan come back and do an episode with Fourvel again. the live episode with PFT and Bobby is one of my all time favorite live eps. the bit PFT does about arguing with his ex-wife about alimony kills me.

This tour made my year, Scotty. I bought eight tickets. Also, The Fox theater is in Oakland, not SF. But we all knew what you meant.

    EPISODE 391 - 2015 Holiday Spectacular

It warms my heart like a cup of Christmas cocoa to see Gino Lambardo on a holiday ep. He's up there with Lapkus/PFT in terms of being part of the "CBB-core" at this point. His episode of "With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus" was fantastic too. Spinoff...?
  18. Natalie Morales is wonderful and she's wearing Birkenstocks.

EPISODE 365 — Bongo vs. Bongos

These are the thoughts of a disturbed, CBB obsessive who has listened to this ep half a dozen times already, but it grates on me that this episode ended up being titled "Bongo vs Bongos". Andy actually named the character "Jimmy Bongo", but Scott fucked up and changed the course of history forever. Go back to 58:38 when Joe Bongo first mentions the name of his bongo-playing alter ego. He says "Jimmy Bongo"! At 58:44, Jason also says "Jimmy Bongo". It isn't until 1:01:26 that Scott first says "Jimmy Bongos". At 1:01:41, Scott and Jason both say "Jimmy Bongo" again. Scott says "Jimmy Bongos" a second time at 1:01:53, which tricks Andy into saying "Jimmy Bongos" at 1:01:57. Scott then condescends everyone at 1:02:05 even though he was the originator of the mistake! I'm petitioning to retroactively change the name of this episode to "Joe & Jimmy" and asking Hot Saucermans to release a formal position paper on the issue.

EPISODE 363 — Wet Hot Crew

Should really just be its own 30-minute Earwolf podcast the Cable News Network needs more good skewering

EPISODE 354 — Solo Bolo: Dos Lo

Based on Ben's confusion over who invented the term "Solo Bolo", I imagine that this was genuine. It was brilliant listening to Benny talk so much shit about a game he invented.

Best of 2014: Stump for favorite episodes here!

Truly a gauntlet this year. I've been listening almost two years now and had to finally make an account on here just to list a bunch of great episodes. Here are the ten I voted for (in chrono-order): 259 - Charlotte's Website 260 - Tiny Cheeseburger Story 270 - Off the Grid 297 - Canadian Apparel 299 - Don't Hack the SAC 301 - They're Twins Jonah! 307 - Ruth's Ross Dress for Less 309 - Tony Macaroni 312 - Grounded Me@ 321 - Big Fat Voice I had to think of my votes in terms of star performers and overall enjoyment of the performers throughout the year. I don't really have the time to go back and listen to every single episode from the year (though I've heard all of them more than once), so I can't say that these are the episodes with the absolute best bits, but they're all winners. This year had a lot of new performers or performers who reached new heights for me. Claudia O'Doherty was a revelation and I felt compelled to vote for both of her episodes; Brendon Small killed it on every appearance and gave us one of the phrases of the year; Joe Wengert grew into his own and consistently brought new and versatile characters that were funny as fuck; Lauren Lapkus became this years' PFT, plugging the gaps some weaker episodes and dominating the stage in episodes filled with more veteran performers; Jon Gabrus showed why he is one of CBB's most underrated performers with brilliant Gino magic throughout the year; Sanz/Schwaz continued to be Sanz/Schwaz and killed me time and time again; Chelsea solidified her place as one of the CBB Greats with some more of her amazing, recorded laughter. One notable thing about this season as well was the ultra high quality of the first timers. I had to vote for Charlotte's Website because DAG was such a treat in that episode; Jim O'Heir was a much more brilliant co-host for Scott than you would assume if you were not familiar with his non-Parks work (as I am not); Dane Cook ep was funny and serious and great, bring him back!; Natasha Lyonne was riotous; back to back Borstein and Gasteyer, are you kidding me?! As his profile continues to rise hopefully Scott will continue to bring in interesting and unique people from all over the comedy world to delight us in ways we wouldn't have expected. Further, it was great to see some old favorites again! Pardo! Birbiglia! Jo Lo! Wyatt! Doug! Thune! Todd Glass! Even some random episodes without the big names or the big moments were super enjoyable throughout ("Nubile Agape" with Shelby/Kulap, "Thrilling Adventure Hour", "The Hotwives of Orlando"). And, last but not least, the musician episodes have been unambiguously great. Always surprised that Scott and the other performers are able to get other people into the mood. Twin Shadow, Old 97s/Berninger, Tenacious D, Paul Banks, all amazing. What year.
