    Miami Connection (1987)

I just saw this trailer over the weekend and I thought this gem would make a great episode! It was actually made in the 80's but it was never released in America until now. It comes out next Tuesday and they are releasing it on not only dvd and bluray, but also VHS!!! Here's the trailer: what do you guys think?
  2. Please talk about The Last American Virgin, let me try to convince why. The 1980's seem to be where all the work that feminists had done up to that point was completely forgotten by the female generation that hit 18 at that time. Not only were boobs the motivation for the entire decade, but so was the butt. The Last American Virgin is the pinnacle of the sex comedy. It has boobs, butt, sexual harassment, female deviants, abortion, friendship, enemyship, and more set backs for gender equality that seems okay to me. And by the end of the film it stops being a comedy and becomes cineamatic gold. There might be some hyperbole and incorrect sentence structure in my explanation, but i'm trying to portray how perfect this film would be for yous guys and people to nit pick and try and find out, "how did this get commissioned and filmed and released and remembered?" Thank you for your time, that guy from gelsons.

    Solarbabies (1986)

This is a movie I would always see on cable when I was little, and its pure wtf: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091981/ Trailer: http://youtu.be/0gMfFHmebi0 Mel Brooks executive produced it, it made $1,579,260 at the box office on a budget of $7,500,000, and it ended the directing career of the director. This IMDB review best sums it up: "Are children lovable prisoners of a Nazi-Fetish, post-apocalyptic corporation/government agency that inexplicably decides to profit by running a child-labor camp in the desert? Check. Are the children also forced to play an arena sport involving roller skates? Check. Does a glowing alien ball appear randomly and befriend the children, with no apparent connection to anything else in the film? Check. Do the children breakdance with the glowing alien ball-friend? Check. Does the glowing alien ball require the children to escape the prison and go on a quest? Yep. Do the children "escape" simply by roller-skating away from the "prison" (through a desert)? Um, yes. Does the glowing alien ball-friend require the children to join hands in a ritualized new-age circle of friendship/love in order to achieve its full glowing alien ball powers? You betcha." You guys should totally do it! (It's also on Netflix Instant) Edit: apparently the whole thing is on YouTube as well: http://youtu.be/DtTnmhishW4
  4. Please consider doing this movie on the podcast, I think it'd be great!! Here are some great resources for getting acquainted with the film: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Falcon_and_the_Snowman http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Falcon_and_the_Snowman_(album) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Is_Not_America http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087231/trivia?tab=mc http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/falcon_and_the_snowman/ I came to know this film when I listened to the soundtrack, composed and recorded by one of my favorite bands, Pat Metheny Group (specifically Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays). I was even more delighted when I learned that David Bowie collaborated with Metheny/Mays to write a song for the film (the instrumental version of which serves as the basis for much of the incidental music throughout). Needless to say, I love this soundtrack. So, I decided to check out the movie. Wow. That's all I can say. This movie is so bland and vague, its hard to even tell what's going on sometimes. The story, which is based on actual events, seems fairly interesting but the film is executed so poorly, its incredible. Please give this one a chance, I promise you will not be disappointed.

    Moon Trap 1989

This is a great silly movie. Bad Robot, Space Ships, The guy who played Chekov in O.G. Star Trek. And Bruce Campbell.
  6. I was forced to watch this as a child and it is just terrible. This is an 80's movie about a boy who is dormant for ten years and must readjust to this new life with a magical UFO. Please watch this, i need to know, how did this get made
  7. There is absolutely nothing else to say about this.

    Rad (1986)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091817/
  9. Theodore Rex (1995) - A buddy cop flick with Whoopi in a skin tight, fake leather suit. It is inevitable that there will be a resurgence in talking dinosaur movies/tv shows/podcasts/documentaries. Address the genre (?) before it reaches a boiling point! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114658/
