    Skybound (2017)

Skybound has it all: Airplane sex, the apocalypse, a terrible soundtrack, the haves vs the have nots, Z list actors, nonsense explanations of physics, and the scene that caused me to yell at the TV- a man chops off an airplane engine while the plane is in flight, with a small fire ax!!! This movie would be so much fun for you guys to do, I would love to hear your reactions to such stupidity. The tag line says it all- “There’s nowhere to land” Skybound on IMDB

    Tracks of a Killer (1996)

Tracks of a Killer (1996, dir. Harvey Frost, Libra Pictures) Summary from IMDB user Richard Jones: "In an effort to insure that his company is left in competent hands, an executive arranges physical and psychological test[sic] for a hand picked associate to assend[sic] to the top of his company upon his retirement. The two associates set off on a weeklong trip to the snowy mountains to be alone with their wives." So, there's definitely some physical and psychological challenges between James Brolin and Wolf Larson, but the summary above makes it sound a lot better than it really is - It's basically a contest for who has the biggest dick. And losing these challenges somehow makes Larson so mad that he's willing to kill and torture people over it. Kelly LeBrock plays Brolin's wife. When Brolin leaves their snowed-in cabin to get help after a race-gone-wrong, Larson proceeds to do weird shit to threaten Kelly LeBrock to get back at Brolin. For the duration of LeBrock being tied up or tortured, she proceeds to make the most unflattering, yet interesting faces I have ever seen a human make. And there's like 50 different ones. At one point LeBrock has escaped from Larson's clutches and has a feasible amount of time to just kill Larson and save herself. But instead she ties him to a chair and then goes outside for more firewood. And is very chill about it. In fact, she could probably work for the CIA, considering how unshaken she is by her experience with Larson. Or maybe it's just bad acting? I'm not sure. This film is available for streaming on Amazon, if you subscribe to that sort of thing. Unfortunately there aren't any great Second Opinions on Amazon to share... bummer.
  3. The setting is in the dog eat dog world of fashion where everyone talks one way but walks another. It's stars Elle Fanning and Jenna Malone as an aspiring model and "been around the block" make-up artist, respectfully. Elle starts out as a doe in the headlights of the fashion world but quickly adjusts to a steep learning curve. There is also the most strange and bizarre cameo by Keanu Reeves.. I saw this movie on a whim. I wanted to see Finding Dory and ended up at this film somehow. While I was watching it, I almost left the theater on three separate occasions because it was such a bizarre, insane film. It felt terrible while I was watching it, but after a few days had passed, I thought about it and understood more and more until I thought it was a an amazing film; one of the best I'd seen. It now appears to me to be a very meta film. The shock factor, gore, and trippy cinematography all had purpose and was thematically grounded to me after much thought. But I really enjoy and respect your opinions on films, you are more qualified to analyze them after all. I want to know your thoughts, was my initial reaction the correct one?

    Mama

A movie so bad Guillermo del Toro had to slap his name on it to give it some legitimacy. The only way I can understand how this movie received decent reviews is that it was released in January, a month where Hollywood dumps its trash and when you compare it to movies like Gangster Squad and Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters it doesn't seem to stink that bad. This movie deserves a second look. Jessica Chastain as a punk rocker? A hilarious, poorly conceived, unscary CGI ghost woman. It exhausts every horror movie cliche until the film shifts tones completely in the third act and becomes utterly ridiculous.
  6. i rarely go to the theater to see shitty movies, as most people i know have decent taste in film and i usually have a good sense of what i'll enjoy, anyways. but my family happened to drag me to this when we had nothing else to do or see, and it is absolutely appalling. i would love to hear it covered on the podcast!
  7. The project that earned Lindsay Lohan 2 razzies for worst actress!
