So Fine (1981)

Recommended Posts

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=io53QMwHZ48

Was listening to the Jake Fogelnest files and on his show they talked about the 1980s classic "so fine" If you've never seen this movie just watch the trailer and you'll know why I wanted here. I could so see Jason going nutz.

I remember seeing this on cable tv back in the 80's when it was called Pay tv and you got two pay tv channels and payed one price for everything. Maybe I was too young at the time but it around the time in the 80's when we got this movie and heavy metal and I remember staying up late to watch them. I liked Heavy metal. not so much on the so fine movie.

so to sum this movie up it's about guy who comes up with a line of ass less blue jeans, No real big over the top actors in this film. Jack Warden,,Richard Kiel from the James bond movies, jaws.

I am not sure how you would even go about finding this film to watch now that I think about it. other then a time machine and super channel.

seanotron- did you ever see disco beaver from outer space? that was another great super channel movie. in other words superchannel had a lot of bad shit on it.

BTW I would say that so fine is on the level of My Tutor (1983), as far as movie goes, but it's maybe a better movie because in my mind there is no such thing as a bad Crispin Glover film.

Sorry just killing time until game of throwns starts.

This looks like something that could have very well aired in the early days of "USA Up All Night" here in the States. This program gained a reputation for showing titty flicks, minus the titties. Also, Troma movies, and the occasional "Friday the 13th" marathon.

Yeah Jake Fogelnest talked about that up all night program, that rings a bell. in canada in the 80s we got two channels, superchannel and first choice. first choice turned into a softcore porn channel friday nights. I remember that, yes I did get into trouble for watching that channel too btw. LOL I remember that but i was too smart for my own good.

David Spade did a bit about "USA Up All Night" too a long time ago, talking about how it was the only thing on when he was stuck in his hotel or something, but it was totally worthless, because all the good stuff was cut out of the movies. Two guys would go walking into a party and say something like "Man, this is going to be one awesome Titty-palooza", and then there would be an edit followed by the guys walking OUT of the party going "Man, that sure WAS an awesome Titty-palooza". I'd still watch though, because dammit, there was an occasional Friday or Saturday night when Showtime DIDN'T run softcore porn :(

This was the directorial debut of Andrew Bergman. After this film flopped, he went on to write Fletch and made his return to the director's chair in 9 years with The Freshman. He continued his run following the latter's success with Honeymoon in Vegas and It Could Happen to You, before the back-to-back disasters of Striptease and Isn't She Great sank his career for good.

AFAIK you haven't done this one yet.

Ryan O'Neill gets his family out of a financial crisis by inventing assless jeans.

Studded with stars(?) Ryan O'Neill, Tony Sirico, Fred Gwynne, Richard Kiel (Jaws in James Bond films)

I forgot to mention that Scotty Auks referenced this in CBB 430 which instantly made me wonder if HDTGM had done it yet.....
