Of all the names I could have culled from the Space Mutiny episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000, I had to choose the one to thoroughly repulse June. Oy vey! Sorry June, but this was my favorite out of the bunch.

just came here to second Paul's recommendation of Black Mirror... and while you're at it, try to check out other Charlie Brooker stuff like Dead Set (the most disturbing depiction of zombies I've ever seen) and Nathan Barley (a very surreal look at the future of information and technology), the latter of which was written with Chris Morris - yet another genius from the UK whose stuff is about as dark as it can get while still being considered comedy.

Brooker also has a show that just finished up its third series called A Touch of Cloth that satirizes crime procedurals much like NTSF, but with a slightly different tone. to be honest, I'm kind of curious if Paul has ever seen it... both shows even share the actress Karen Gillan.

A Touch of Cloth is one of my favourite shows in the past few years.

Brooker also did a series called "Screen Wipe" that was hidden away in the schedule on BBC Four. They're all on Youtube. He also did a one off "Games Wipe", and then moved onto "News Wipe".

Speaking of blatant product placement, don't forget that was invented by George Clooney:

Very excited for them to watch Junior. I watched this movie with my parents as a kid, and haven't watched it since. Let's just say it stayed with me longer than however long the movie was.

hell yeah, I've seen all the Wipe stuff too. I think now he's condensed it to a year-end Wipe (that should drop sometime this month actually) and then a Weekly Wipe series that usually airs in January. I live in the US, but for years and years I've had an unquenchable thirst for British television and culture - and all the Wipes, although they also cover world issues, provided me with a ton of entertainment.

he was also one fourth of the news program 10 O'Clock Live along with David Mitchell (from Peep Show), Jimmy Carr and Lauren Laverne... another great way to get in touch with what was happening in the UK if you're not a native. I think it stopped airing sometime in 2013, but its humor definitely surpasses the current events nature of the show.

Let's not forget about a classic

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjB6r-HDDI0

Nuprin, now that's a name i have not heard in a long time.

if they did that now, a Nuprin ad they would have to list all of the side effects..

Kind of unhappy that they are doing Junior as it was like a on going joke. the poster of the podcast was for a film they have never reviewed. Great, Now I got to find junior on video. as if I didn't have any forewarning.

I'm pretty surprised that they aren't going to round out the triology and do Santa With Muscles. Especially at this time of year.

as far as "A view to a kill" NIck cage would of played Zorin not bond. as he would of made or could still make a excellent villain.

Nicolas Cage has that great nervous laugh that is so much needed for GREAT Villain.

now imagine nick saying now Mr bond, The silicon valley will be mine bahahaaha

The Christmas movie they should review is the one where Goldberg, the JEWISH WWF wrestler played a demonic Santa.

Correction to a correction:

While this movie plays as fast and loose with geography as it does seismology, the second blimp doesn't go from "Silicon Valley to the Golden Gate Bridge...in a matter of minutes." When water is trickling in through the tunnel ceiling, the job site foreman says that they are directly underneath San Andreas Lake. The northern tip of the lake is only 13 miles from the Golden Gate Bridge, a long distance for a blimp to cover so quickly but not as absurd as the length of the whole Peninsula.

The northern tip of the lake is only 13 miles from the Golden Gate Bridge, a long distance for a blimp to cover so quickly but not as absurd as the length of the whole Peninsula.

A correction to your correction to my correction:

While you are right about this movie playing fast and loose with geograpghy, you are technically wrong (within the context of this film, that is). When Zorin and his pals are on the blimp, he tells Scarface to "Hold position here." so that they can watch the impending carnage below. We then we cut to a wide shot of a valley, which we are to believe is Silicon Valley.

Here's were things get ...squiffy: the southern tip of San Andreas Lake is near Milbrae, roughly 33 miles from Silicon Valley. No way could they see Silicon Valley from this vantage point in real life. So, we are to believe either A.) the writers took the liberty of saying that the San Andreas Lake is right next door to Silicon Valley, or B.) Zorin and his buddys flew 33 miles south to Sunnyvale in a blimp in record time (then flew all the way back even faster to pick up Stacy after Bond and Mayday thwarted his plans).

Now, the Golden Gate Bridge is 17 miles away from San Andreas Lake by car. I don't care who you are; that's a fuckin' long ass time to be hanging around on a rope connected to a flying blimp. The top speed of the average blimp in inclimate weather condition is 40 knots, or 46 mph, which is sort of respectable-ish. Still there is no way that blimp could traverse that distance in a matter of a couple of minutes.

Keep in mind, this is supposed to be a very action-y scene, so I doubt the film's editors wanted to plant in our minds that we're taking an long intermission from the action while Zorin and Bond make their way to the final set piece. So, yeah, in the context of this movie's dubious knowledge of geography, Zorin's blimp does go from San Andreas Lake/Silicon Valley in a matter of minutes.

(((Mic drop)))

Just a correction to one of the corrections from the mini episode: Walken's character in Batman Returns was Max Schrek (a reference to Nosferatu) not Zorn.

Junior is episode 100 and I'm so happy you guys are finally covering it based on how a male scientist who becomes pregnant managed to get made! Now since the minisode just came out today, I wonder what other day the Junior episode will come up?
