Episode 68 — Erin Gibson, Our Close Friend

Recommended Posts

PS - I think my first RSs episode was the one with Jonna because I was burnt out on comedy podcasts with UCB people and i wanted to listen to one with idiots from The Challenge. The Michael Stagliano episode was good.

Listened to RSS episode one when it came out. Thought it was dumb. Realized I was wrong and it was actually funny and nice and good and have been reading these damn threads everyday for the last two years.

Just saw Sean on Parks and Rec. That was not what I imagined he looked like. What a gorgeous human being. Swoon.

I'd just moved down south and was at a show at the ucb. I wasn't really familiar with any of the performers, but I remember almost every scene from this show pretty clearly because it was one of my first whoa this improv is pretty neat moments. In the first beat of one scene Amanda Sitko initiated to Allan McCloud as his student asking if she could get a better grade and put her hand on his leg. He looked worried and said "Oh. Amanda, if you're going to do that..." and then there was a reeeallly long moment of silence before he finished with "...put it on my dick." And then she got really uncomfortable because he kept insisting. Anyways, the second beat was a person asking a priest for forgiveness and when it got to the hj part the guys all jumped out being super happy to give fake bjs and it heightened from a priest to the pope to crucified jesus getting blown and then one of them climbed up back wall as God and called out "Save some for me son!" and that was so funny that I went home and looked up who that person was (sean obv). Anyways a while later I was not feeling CBB as much as I had and was plumbing through the earwolf presents section looking for something new and saw that Sean had a podcast, but it was about reality shows, which didn't sound funny and also I couldn't find anything online about the other host. I listened to it anyways and was an instant superfan of the show and Hayes, so much so that I wrote a long post about how much I liked the show. And now here I am trying to waste less time online but I keep coming back cuz I can't quit you boards!

I have decided to spend the rest of the night listening to old episodes of The Reality SHOW show instead of going out and drinking.

Fate Reforged dropped on Magic Online tonight so that has eaten up my Friday night but as far as my discovery of Hollywood Handbook, I found Comedy BB because I searched Tim Heidecker into iTunes podcasts. I had actually been recording podcasts for like a year at the time but didn't listen any. Then once I saw that the Stella bros were appearing on pods I just searched their names and saw the Michael Showalter ep of HH. I remember listening to the pre-guest segment and saying out loud to myself, "I like these guys." Went back and listened to all HH and RSS and S & H have been my fav to podcasters ever since.

Have any of you played Munchkin? Five of us played a three hour game tonight and for the last half 3-5 of us were on level nine the entire time. Best game of anything I've ever played. I wonder if there is a way to play online with people far away - like y'all!

What is this game? Tell me more.

What is this game? Tell me more.

It's a tabletop card game that kind of mocks the idea of games like DnD and the like. Each turn you try to kill a monster to move up a level and level ten is winning. There are cards that can help you or hurt you, other players can help or hurt you, and the rules and the way cards conflict made the game endlessly complicated in the way that arguments pop up even if you have played dozens of times. But at the same time the actual gameplay is simple. There's also tonnes of themed expansions like zombies, western, etc.

I've been with CBB since the early double digits, and most other Earwolf shows followed from there. But I didn't listen to RSS because why would I listen to a show about a topic that didn't interest me with hosts I'd never heard of?

I got into HH through a Podmass review of the Lamorne Morris episode, immediately listened to the rest, then worked my way through RSS too.

Hey guys, challenging the popcorn gallery to find out who the truest forum diehard is. You have less than 12 hours to give us a question for Betsy Sodaro. If you don't question her, Hayes will question YOU... about your commitment to this show.

Ms Sodaro,

1. Is women funny? I hear a lot of conflicting opinions and I hope you can settle this for me.

2. Are you into Weezer? Blue vs Green, which is better? (Blue)

3. Excited for the big game? FA Cup! Sunderland vs Fulham! So exciting!

4. Could you ask Sean why he didn't like my vaccine post? Did he just not see it? (Remind him it was funny and cool)

Betsy, you've stated that seeing Hayes Davenport for the first time made you feel things that you hadn't felt since the first time you watched D'Angelo's "Untitled (How Does It Feel)" music video.

How does the real life Hayes Davenport compare to the one on the silver screen and do you find it difficult to contain yourself sitting just a few feet away from him?

Besty, everyone knows you have a rocky working relationship with JJ Abrahams. So much so that you recently tweeted, "My favorite Star Wars porn is Episode Cum: The Fucked-our Men-ass"

Which episodes come before or after Episode Cum?

Dear Betsy,

You hang around smart, funny comedians all the time. Can you explain why they all love the Aristocrats joke so much? To me, it's super gross and they aren't even acting like aristocrats.

Hi Betsy, Who you will you be cheering for in the superbowl and why aren't the Patriots cheaters and isn't it all the people who are mean to the Patriots who are the real cheaters?
