Here is a special birthday edition of the Hurricane Dennis update - a picture of him enjoying a boat ride out in the bayou. It is crazy, but when he is in the sunlight his fur goes from black to blackish-red. It doesn't show up great here, I'll post a better example next time.

PS he is enjoying a baby carrot in your honor right now.

FUCK he's so majestic it's not fair

What breed is he? You've legitimately sold me on a Dennis for my first pup.

He's a chow chow. He might not be pure, but he's pretty close. He's also on the small side at about 45 lbs - males often get up to 80 lbs or so. The breed is known for being aggressive and dangerous to strangers, but Dennis hasn't ever shown any of that tendency. They are also known for being aloof and dignified in a sort of cat-like way, and he personifies that for sure. He's friendly, but he doesn't just give it away like some dumb golden retriever or something. This video is of a different chow, but it is one of my favorite youtubes of all time, and maybe it will make you smile on your birfday:

Just dipping away from this ramen tasting (small batch production, locals only) to ask if anyone has a copy of X-MAN 71. The comic only ran for five years but I still think it's alright.

EDIT: Sorry Chanson. My punk brother Jefferiah hacked my account and started posting these smart alec answers. Needless to say I've given him a stern lecture about giving respect to the Hall of Fame board members. He understands now.

I don't have a dog but you people like mugs so here's a mugshot. I'm part of the cool nerd clan now so I have this video games one. It's heat sensitive so when there's hot coffee in it the mug it lights up the parts that make it being like a video game is starting but when you're done with your hot beverage and the cup is cold it says "GAME OVER." It relates to how I feel about video games, and my coffee (total addict).

This here was Buddy, my handsome old beagle-coonhound. He passed away about six years ago but he was my best bud growing up, which made him aptly-named.

Until last year we had a third dog, and he was a big old beagle mix and he was great. He looked pretty much like your Buddy, and I don't talk about him as much or post pictures of him very much because it still makes me sad. He was fricken' hilarious though, so I should get over it and post pictures of him.

Also, chill out you honkeys! I said "like a dumb golden retriever" and you clearly have/had smart golden retrievers, so I wasn't talking about yours. The first dog I ever kind of had (my grandma's dog, but I got to hang out with it any time I wanted) was a golden retriever that showed up on her property one day. He was a good boy too, and his name was Planet.

Edit: In case it wasn't clear, "Chill out you honkeys!" is my macho way of apologizing for stereotyping your good doggies. I should have known better since poor Hurricane Dennis gets racially profiled everywhere he goes. Just like not all chows are out there murdering people every day, not all golden retrievers are mindlessly friendly to everyone.

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like he was a real good boy.

Jackson was not an especially good boy (it was obvious to us all that his moral alignment was Lawful Evil) but he was fun and hilarious all the time. We're having a sign painted for him that says "You don't have to be good to get into beagle heaven."

Here's a pic.
