Episode 135.5 - Minisode 135.5

Recommended Posts

Just don't try. All the ones Paul's ever read from mine have been ones that I thought were really stupid when I was writing them. And the ones where I was like, "OH SNAP I'M ONTO SOMETHING!" disappeared into the ether.

So, just like in life, it doesn't pay to try.

For anything.

Ever.

I think I'll get my Lifetime a Achievement Correction & Ommission of the Week at the 2048 Howdies or so, because if I didn't get a real one for "LOL" or "Hackers", I just don't think it's going to happen. I tend to do my best work when the field is full of top-shelf talent. Maybe I'll meet my match in a young, up-and-coming commenter someday that I can riff off of that'll help get me back in the game. I can have a "Color of Money" or "Untouchables"-style commenting career Renaissance and become the sexy silver fox of the commenting set that rides out the rest of my career as commenting royalty! Oh, to dream...

I've seen a bunch of Frogtown, and by extension Donald G. Jackson movies. The second one replaces Roddy Piper with Robert Z'Dar and think there's one that has porn star Jill Kelly in a leading role... (Max Hell Frog Warrior, might be the 3rd one).

The first one is probably watchable but don't start exploring this guy's catalogue unless you really wanna jump down a wormhole of peyote-fueled garbage.

Yeah Jill Kelly was in the 3rd one where the director used his own filming style called Zen film making where there was no script and basically the whole movie was ad libbed on the spot while following a loose plot outline. What's funny is when I watched this one I couldn't get out of my head how much the lead actress looked like Jill Kelly and then was shocked to see that the director actually brought her in for the uber-shitty sequel.

If you wanna fucking cry!

This scene along with Clark Kent burying his dog on the moon in Superman Earth One are the two saddest fucking scenes I've ever read in comics. Holy hell do they pull at your damn heartstrings. What's worse with Y: the Last Man is

Yorick really doesn't win: the woman he thought he loved wanted to leave him at the start of the series which would have made his whole journey completely different if he knew, but still kinda pointless in the end, his mother was murdered, the woman he unintentionally fell in love with was murdered by the suicidal zealot who killed his mom, and he is deemed insane in his old age by his own offspring and former loved ones and driven to attempts of suicide.

Now that I think about that series, fuck you Brian K. Vaughan for making me feel those feels.

Have you read "WE3" by Grant Morrison? That one is ANOTHER animal-related comic kick in the nuts.

Man, wouldn't it suck if this thread was suddenly filled with a bunch of out of context panels from some of the saddest moments in comics?

I'm picky with Morrison because the amount of What the Fuck he can put into his stories varies from comic to comic. Like I loved most of his run with Batman, though parts of RIP and Batman & Robin were way out there, but then things like Black Glove, Final Crisis, Multiversity just leave me shaking my head at times.

Hello everyone! *In Tobias Voice* "How ARE you?" I hope you are doing well.

I'm back after some time away from the forum and the podcast due to unforeseen circumstances that are out of my control...

(Mainly the countrywide 4-hour a day power outages for the last month and a half or so, that result in 8 daily hours of information blackout... Thats because my grid is different than main cable tv and internet hub I first loose the cable tv and internet for 4 hours, then as soon as tv and internet come back I loose power for 4 more hours so I try to read a book or do something that does not require electricity in those 8 hour of my day. Venezuela's Power Crisis is a pain in the neck )

I don't wish to fill this forum with my (and my countrys) troubles I just wanted you to know why I've been away from this forum and not really posting or watching the next movie since "The Covenant" episode... Thank you so much for reading this post. It really means a lot to me.

Mid-post P.S. : I saw all of Season 2 of "Daredevil" and I liked it. If and when I find the time I'll reply on the thread where everybody was talking about it with my broader impression

Now that I've taken care of all of that...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wish everyone that called into the Paul Ask # would take note of AJ's call, because it was basically perfect. He clearly had worked on what he was going to say. If he didn't write everything down, he at least had a bullet point list of the high points. Overall, he was very concise and was probably one of the best call-ins we've had.

Just don't try. All the ones Paul's ever read from mine have been ones that I thought were really stupid when I was writing them. And the ones where I was like, "OH SNAP I'M ONTO SOMETHING!" disappeared into the ether.

I agree with every post on this thread that I liked (Sorry for the like flood)... Some of my C & Os have been read on various mini-episodes (I loved every single one of them), also I remember that my first one was about "Gigli" back when you could add a C & O for older episodes. If I had to choose one that was not read that I thought it deserved a mention I would have to say the "Theodore Rex" one...

11942213_10153433934077559_8585324605530796638_o.jpg

Not too long ago I tried to post my C & Os in the forum as soon as the episode goes live so that my post would show up in the first pages of the thread. But since that happens fridays at 4am local time I would often fall asleep and when I wake up about 4 or 5 hours later the thread would be around page 3 or 4 at least...

It's truly a hard knock life for us...

Okay, this is a truly fun movie so far (about 20 minutes in). Looks like I'll be on Paul and Zouks' side with this one.

Even before I started it I knew I'd love it when I read the director was known as the "Ed Wood of the video era"

How can you go wrong there?!

The same director made three movies about "The Roller Blade Seven," which is fucking exactly what it sounds like. I wouldn't recommend them.

I haven't seen Hell Comes to Frogtown in several years, but I remember it being much more enjoyable than those.

I can definitely see how his films are incredibly hit or miss.

Also, the climactic fight brought me so much joy, I can't even begin to explain. I'm getting over a cold and have a lingering cough so I laughed so hard it launched me into a coughing fit...totally worth it.

I don't know why I thought it would be a good idea to start a new project (script) now, when I've got so much awful stuff going on AND there's an awesomely weird new movie to watch for HDTGM. I'm losing my mind... It explains the talking goat. (In the thing I'm writing. haha!)

I rewatched it last night, and yeah, that last fight is pretty much the best thing ever.

When I was a kid, my aunt thought it would be funny to name her new kitten "Hillary rotten kitten." It still makes me cringe to this day.

As a guy, if you've ever gone in for a fertility test and come out with decent numbers, you really feel like bragging about it but at the same time you knew that would be weird and wrong.

That's how I think this movie came to be- a B-movie producer spooged in a cup, got great results and

then proceeded to tell everyone about it. "Dude, your high motility numbers are not the kind of thing you just bring up in casual conversation." And he leans back in his chair and said, "aw, fuck it. I'll make a movie so millions (thousands) (dozens) of people will see it and have to hear about my fantastic sperm count!"

Sam Hell is packing heat right? I felt like the stories or legends told about him are because he's got a massive dong. not because he's fertile. He just happens to be getting women pregnant because he's out there with a big ole thang. Did looney help him all those years ago because he wanted to to get a peice of the action?

I really liked it but given the setup, was also pretty let down. It never seemed to really realize the potential of it's batshit crazy plot.

To quote Jason from the Covenant Ep.

"This movie is horny."

Holy balls. What even is this movie? It's like the premise of a (softcore) porno, but without any kind of "payoff."

Also

did they really make him have sex with (rape???) a roofied escaped sex slave?

Also also, what was with 80's movies and headbands as crowns?

Also also also... It's kind of like Mad Max Fury Road... 's dumber, sex addicted cousin.

Yeah, I had a real problem with that. I went back and forth on it, because Spangle forces him to do it, but he also only protests for, like, a second.

Then, the next morning, the victim is all appreciative, which is a really strange "She'll thank you for it later "message to tack onto the end of that rape plot.

I haven't even begun to unpack this in my brain yet, so I'm sure I'll have more to say on that by the time we hit the main episode thread. But I'm also pretty sure they'll talk about that scene a lot, especially if June is there (this was recorded the same night as Solarbabies, so she should be, right?). It's definitely "upsetting."

Yeah, it's 100% rape. That's basically as far as I got this morning. So far, I hate this movie, and I can't really imagine that the remaining hour is going to make me change my mind. It's like a twelve year old douche bag boy's fantasy of what sex is like. I don't care if the human race is about to die off, you can't drug someone into having sex, and then try to justify that with "but she really wanted it." I mean, why does it even have to be "sex?" Why can't it be IVF? The only reason I can think is because the writer was like, "Wouldn't it be cool if I was the last man on Earth and all these chicks just wanted my balls?" I assume this thought would then be followed by creepy, lecherous laughter.
