But I did finish my 52 films by women challenge! 5 of those ended up being in my top 20 for 2016! So far, two days in and I've finished Westworld which is so many levels of amazing it makes me even angrier at shitty TV adaptations of movies like Lethal Weapon and Rush Hour. Yeah it was a new one for me, and I thought it was pretty good. To be honest I got it mixed up with another zombie horror movie involving a radio station called Dead Air which starred Bill Moseley as a shock jock dealing with an unknown outbreak. Thanks, Fister :)/>/> Wow. I did it. 557 movies. Which is an ass ton of movies. Unfortunately, though, I still didn't hit two of my benchmarks. I only ended up watching 358 "new" movies, so I fell 7 short for one new movie for every day. That also only put me at 64% new movies watched. However, I did enjoy the experiment - especially as I used it as an opportunity to watch a bunch of classics I'd never seen. Even going through this list now brings back a lot of fun memories and conversations I've had. I think I'm addicted to this now, and I will definitely be giving it another go in 2018 - albeit at a much more leisurely pace :)/> My biggest joy this year was discovering the "Before..." series. My biggest disappointment was probably watching MASH for the first time. My favorite documentary was I Am Big Bird: The Caroll Spinney Story. grudlian. 4725 Posted January 1, 2018 I hadn't heard of the Doug Loves Movies challenge before this year but I had always wanted to average a movie a day before. I think I'd normally top out in the mid 200s somewhere. This year I logged 432 movies on letterboxd. I count 45 movies I had seen before for a total of 387 movies. I also watched 130 movies from 2017. My favorite discoveries (of old movies) were The Human Condition trilogy, A Face In The Crowd and the works of Powell & Pressburger.
