I watched about half on it on demand while I made a lasagna. It's less a film than a cameo delivery system; they come and go so fast that it becomes a game of "is this a D-list celebrity, or just an actor in a bit part?". Like the camera will pass by Wayne Newton and settle on a lady at a slot machine, and you're looking at her thinking "maybe that's someone from Mafia Wives of Miami?" but you don't watch that and the 'nado has moved on already to another cameo.

This gets even weirder when the movie stops at a chainsaw store in Texas, where a guy named "Gunnar" is working. He looks exactly like Gunnar Hansen, who played Leatherface in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre films. But Gunnar Hansen isn't in Sharknado 4; he's dead. They got an actor who looks like him, and named a character after him, so another minor cameo can make an unfunny chainsaw massacre reference. That's a lot of effort for very little return on investment.

I hope you didn't drop a contact in it and hope that one of the Village People would find it

This series now reminds me of an old episode of Rocko's Modern Life where the main characters get hired by their neighbor's son to help create new episodes for his cartoon The Fatheads. The son hopes that with their lack of experience would send the show's ratings downward so he could get out of his contract with the studio, but each episode they do gets higher and higher ratings, namely one which is just a static shot of a jar of mayo which gets rave critical reviews for being artistic. It's only when the son starts trying to make a good show he can be proud of that the show tanks and he's let go to pursue his other dreams.

I think Asylum and Thunder Levin made the first movie thinking "oh well it's SyFy, they paid us and we gave them this shitty movie." Then all of a sudden it's got over 80% on Rotten Tomatoes, rave reviews from viewers and various celebrities, and unbelievably high ratings. The sequel happens and its more of the same, so they are now stuck having to make a third. Again, a bigger budget, but now they are trying to sabotage the movie with countless cameos and product placement. Same result of strong ratings and viewer response. Now the fourth movie is basically bad puns followed by nods to Star Wars and so many cameos you lose count, I honestly will not be surprised if the fifth movie is just a single shot of Ian Ziering flipping off the camera.

Yeah it's really bad when the cameo list is actually longer than your cast list.

It's not even people you want to see cameos of, it's mostly Richard Simmons level of D list actors.

when Donald trump can get better actors on his show Celebrity apprentice you really are in trouble.

Like PlanBFromOuterSpace didn't make it to the end, so I guess the sharks won this time?

I'm thinking/hoping that the fifth will be the last, because it's clear that they are now beating this dead horse with its own legs.

So this guy is actually Leatherface in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D from 2013, so it's both a tribute and a reference that makes more sense than the confused Christine reference. It's also another good example of the weakness of the cameos this go around.

Richard Simmons would have been a pretty good get for Sharknado 4.

I felt pretty bad for Wayne Newton when he popped up for his cameo.

I'd actually watch that, especially if the 'nado had a bad comb-over and mustache.

I felt pretty bad for Wayne Newton when he popped up for his cameo.

The whole red curtain in the middle of the casino floor was just weird and made him look really pitiful, I wouldn't have been surprised if there was a hat at his feet where people could toss their change.

I have it on right now in the background and NOTHING is really getting my attention. With no reason to really talk about it, it's no fun to even try to get through at all. As mentioned here already, everyone has about seven seconds of screen time, so it seems like there's no reason to give a shit about anything.

The only real crazy things to talk about happen in the first 10 minutes and last five which are Finn riding a car off of the Stratosphere casino and then sailing on a flood using one of the ships from Treasure Island, and then Tara Reid being able to fly and shoot lasers out of her hand. Everything is kinda meh.

Sharknado 5: Springtime For Hitlernado

Did you just uncover that this is a real life Producers moment where Sharknado was just supposed to tank while they took the money and ran???

I'm glad the guys aren't doing this one. I don't think it's funny when films are trying to be bad, I much prefer the gang pulling apart things that are trying to be earnest (goes to jail!) and failing. I don't see the point in making a deliberately bad film

I knew this 4th film was going to be poor but wasnt ready for how poor it was. The first was fun as they tried to make a proper film, the second was to self aware and just trying to wink at the camera all the time which took the fun out of it. The third pulled me back in as it was just so over the top and ridiculous but the fourth seems to have looked at all the previous ones and just tried to 1up all the crazy parts and just out do the others... sorry it's just not working.

They either need to stop making these films or actually try and dial them back and get the feel of the original film as well as getting rid of all the cameo's (more like supporting cast).
