Seriously - there's no music suggestion thread already?

Recommended Posts

I find that very hard to believe. Music and Sklarbro Country go together like....Awesome things and cries of, "Heeeenderrrrsoon!" :)

Well, maybe it is here, and I glanced past it while perusing all 9 pages of threads for Sklarbro Country, and the Search function missed it too. But I think someone should have one here. I mean, I'm sure that there are tons of bands out there that would fit in with Randy & Jason's tastes. As loyal members of the Country, I say it's up to us to make sure that any and all bands/artists get a shout-out!

So I'm gonna start things off, and suggest...

Who's next?

Have you seen the spotify playlist of songs from the show? It's got a pretty awesome list of almost everything that's been played on the show...

Band that they haven't played, well...they did ages ago, but Mayer Hawthorne's new record, "How Do You Do" is so great and I can't stop listening to it.

Bright Light Social Hour is a great band out of Austin Texas.
To follow the theme of the show Dale Earnhart jr jr is also great. I hope to hear either on upcoming shows.

Platinum female fan,

For some reason, this thread died after little momentum. i know there's too many people on here who like music for that to happen...

I'm going to go ahead and suggest the Sklar Broquendos play a little Audra Mae and The Almighty Sound. They just dropped their first full length. The song "Ne'er do Wells" sounds perfect to be a segment opener on The Country.

Let's get some more suggestions on here yeah?

I'm going to plug some of my insanely talented friends:

http://timbre.bandcamp.com/ - harpist out of Nashville, TN that sings like an angel. Her originals are great; she also has an amazing cover of Radiohead's "Like Spinning Plates."

http://thenobility.bandcamp.com/ - another Nashville treasure. The Nobility play Beatles-inspired rock with lots of tasty synths.

http://www.myspace.com/foxhole - Foxhole, an instrumental band in the vein of Explosions in the Sky, are currently on extended hiatus, thus the Myspace profile. It's worth visiting that place of woe to experience their tunes, I promise.

http://themedders.bandcamp.com/ - really good, southern-friend rock featuring the bassist of The Nobility.

A Plea for Purging - Great metal, but they have no Bandcamp page. In lieu of that, here is the best video ever:

A band out of the UK called Spector, the single is called "Chevy Thunder", never would have found out about them it they weren't an a football show from the UK called "Soccer AM".

Really great song, thought of the Sklar Bros right away when hearing it.
