Not sure how a film with a character named "John Grizzly" who drinks motor oil has escaped the suggestion box.

You must be out yo damn mind fool. This is a classic movie. If you were in front of me right now I would turn my hat around, like a switch, and arm wrestle you.

Cobra was a great choice, but "Over the Top" was an arm-wrestling movie. Arm-wrestling! A movie about horse shoes or darts would have been as thrilling.

At least we now know that ur hat has to be turned backwards in order to properly arm wrestle. And wasn't the grand prize in that movie a new semi truck?

You're completely wrong! The grand prize was the love and admiration of his son! This is one of the most underrated divorce dramas of all time.

I agree, Kramer vs. Kramer can eat a dick.

Have you seen the SNL skit with Norm McDonald and Stallone where Norm was in a car accident or something, and Stallone is trying to save him, but Norm's just dogging on his movies while he's sitting there bleeding to death? One of the remarks is "Kramer vs. Kramer was a good movie, sure, but it just didn't have enough arm wrestling in it".

Yeah I remember that one. The guy dies and they pull out the VHS tape in his jacket which they think is Rambo, which makes Stallone happy, but they then see it's a porno named Rambone. I also remember the skit with Tracy Morgan and Jim Breuer dogging Stallone in Planet Hollywood before he snaps and attacks them which then leads to them becoming the new co-owners of the restaurant.

Over the Top is my favorite shitty movie of all time.

Stallone being Stallone surrounded by a slew of crazy ass characters who drink motor oil and wear BLASTER t-shirts. An estranged son who tries to arm-wrestle a kid on a pinball machine. They can't even consistently commit to what Stallone's characters NAME is - is it Hawk or Hawks? THE PEOPLE MAKING THE MOVIE DON'T KNOW. Oh, and on top of the crazy shit in the movie itself, there's still the fact that STALLONE HELPED WRITE IT HIMSELF!

"After winning the heavyweight boxing championship and single-handedly winning the war in Vietnam for America, Sylvester Stallone moves on to a real challenge -- arm wrestling -- in this action drama with a family undercurrent. Lincoln Hawk (Stallone) is a long-haul truck driver who years ago abandoned his wife Christina (Susan Blakely) and their son Michael (David Mendenhall). Hawk comes to see the error of his ways and wants to reconcile with his loved ones, only to discover that Christina is in the hospital suffering through the last stages of a terminal illness. Her wealthy and powerful father, Jason Cutler (Robert Loggia), has come to hate Hawk for the way he left his daughter to fend for herself, and he wants full custody of the boy upon her death. But Hawk is desperate to mend his relationship with Michael. He kidnaps the boy, and as Jason's hired goons give chase, Hawk points his truck toward the one place where he can win the money and recognition that will earn his son's respect -- a wrist-wrestling championship in Las Vegas. Actor Sylvester Stallone also co-wrote the screenplay."

36% on Rotten Tomatoes - good enough that a lot of listeners probably know and love this movie but still bad enough to be considered. It's an amazingly entertaining movie. Would love to hear you guys riffing on this amazing pile of shit.

How have you guys not watched the Stallone arm wrestling movie yet?!

If nothing else motivates you to watch this, bear in mind, Stallone has a fucking exercise machine set up in his big rig (he's a trucker dad taking his kid on the road, of course.) purely so he can train to arm wrestle.

This movie is insanity.

I can understand missing a movie through a forum search, but how could you miss a title in the actual episode list?

In this case, the forum search is useless; it apparently sees all three words in the title as stop words and returns zero results, even if you put "over the top" in quotes.

IP.Board (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Yeah, but a search for "stallone" should return it, although to be fair there has to be at least a page of Stallone recommendations.

Yeah near anything under three letters will not show up in a search since they can be very common, even when Boolean searches are done, although Lando was correct and Stallone did show it as a result.

True, but quotes are supposed to prevent words under three letters from being dropped, even according to IP.Board's own example ("enclosing it in quotes".)

Given the fact that Shannon and I have to merge 5-10 threads every day, I'm happy if people bother searching once. Going through a list of actor names and keywords is asking a bit much.

A truck driver with a heart of gold will stop at nothing to get back into his son's life. Not even the evil, rich grandfather Jason Cutler (Robert Loggia) with his money and influence can curb Lincoln Hawk's (Sylvester Stallone) drive and determination.

Did I mention this movie has an arm wrestling championship match?
