Episode 12 - David Sedaris

Recommended Posts

Writer and humorist David Sedaris feels apprehensive about being Conan O’Brien’s friend.

David sits down with Conan this week to talk about the perks of having a colonoscopy, backhanded compliments, being honest about your family, and how to dispose of old tumors. Plus, Conan and his assistant Sona respond to a listener voicemail regarding a wax museum conspiracy.

Conan I love you!

also at the end of the episode you were theorizing about where whoopi could have come from and someone mentioned it could have been famously awful superstar limo roller coaster. the celebrities on the coaster were pretty cartoonish looking and were semi-animatronic, not wax. When the ride was destroyed a lot of the things in it were repurposed and some of the celebrities were used in the next ride to occupy the space (a monsters inc dark ride) whoopi goldberg is likely hiding in a hazmat suit there

i highly reccommend watching the history of superstar limo (link below), and in general getting into theme park history

if that piques your interest in theme park history, this video is my favorite (about another ride) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6rnPqSrE40

I love you, Conan! Today's show was great too!

God bless the Boston Dreamland Wax Museum! After admonishing them with my heartbreak, they looked deep within their souls. They did not like what they saw and so they've pulled themselves out of the fire by relenting to include a Conan figurine in their halls. Blessed day!
