DubipR 485 Posted March 9, 2012 The late Ted Demme's master comedy starring Dr. Dre and Ed Lover (from then YO! MTV Raps fame). Dre and Lover star as 2 former barbers turned police officers. Their mentor who pushed them into being officers is killed and now its up to NY's 'Finest' to solve the case! Â For the cameo factor alone, this film is worth reviewing. Colin Quinn, Denis Leary, Busta Rhymes, Ice-T, House of Pain, Bill Bellamy, Flavor Flav, Heavy D, Kriss Kross, Naughty by Nature, Queen Latifah... its 90s Hip Hop and Rap at its finest. The production value is good, and Demme's a great director, but its so dated! The nostalgia of high top fades, Rodney King references, and killer 90s hip hop. Â The tagline: The First Hip-Hop Whodunnit! Share this post Link to post
