Episode 33.5 — Minisode 33.5

Recommended Posts

We have an extra extra special minisode for you this week! We brought our guests Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair in a week early so you can get to know them and find out about their awesome new show Best Friends Forever. They talk about making out with each other, highlights of the first season, and awesome guest stars so that next week we can get down to the nitty gritty. See you then!

You know what i like more than poscasts about movies.. its podcasts that have nothing to do with movies and instead just advertise friends TV shows that don't get aired in my country (that's not your fault of course). I've loved your show for its straightforward takes and blatant advertising just cheapens it for me. Stop diversifying.. you were doing great as you were, you change things up when things get dull not the other way around.

I think you guys have run out of steam with 2 boring casts, the last one was unlistenable, for all the reasons people stated in the forum, and would have been the same if you reviewed the trailer for all you talked about it.

Please get back to movies and a have fun watching them and bring your uniquely rambling take on them.. I realize I'm inviting the rage.. but that's what comment sections are for.

Why am I listening to a 15 minute plug for a TV show?

Guys can you cool it down??? Maybe they made a deal with Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair and said "If you do this podcast with us, we plug your show"

I personally think is better to do it in the mini episode than in the actual full episode, but that is just my opinion

Remember time is money...

Also.. Paul and June have said there married before in the "Twilight: B.D. Pt.1" episode ( Paul said as a joke that they were waiting for the 10th or 15th wedding anniversary to consume the marriage. Also June and Jason had an argument about Bellas agency or lack there of, Maybe that is when someone got the idea that they were married lol ) and I recall another episode ( I think it was the "Punisher: War Zone" one ) where Paul talks about "Piranha 3D" and he tells the story when Junes father saw the film thought it was porn... So the fans of the podcast already knew they were married...

you guys do realize this is free content, right? paul scheer is not stepping on your throat, forcing you to listen to his friends talk about their new project while he counts the half dollars from your wristband coin purse

This. Although, it is weird how much 'BFF' is coming up on Earwolf podcasts this week... Is there some kind of back-alley Sally deal going here (as Scottabot would say)?

I'm not upset at all. I just hope there was some money given to the podcast for using their time to advertise. Or maybe it was the deal mentioned above of guesting on the show for airtime.

I understand it's free and the ads are a necessity to stay alive.

I guess I just didn't want to hear more about BFF after Fred Savage did a great job plugging it on the more popular podcast. AT least it was in the minisode.

I really feel like I need to see pictures of everyone when they were in college now.

Where the hell are all these mark-ass bustas hating on a mini-episode coming from? They did the same thing they usually do in a mini-sode (play the trailer for the upcoming show) and then chatted with some friends and promo'd their show. Who cares? Don't like it? Turn it off and go listen to something else. I'm sure that the crew will miss all that money you're sending to them.

I feel like many of you out there are getting greedy! It's a freakin' FREE podcast. As echoed before: Dont like it, don't listen to it! I understand that the last podcast was kind of lame, and I didn't like the guest either; but for fuckssake, the aftermath on the forum board went from negative to downright hostile! If you think things have changed for the worse, stop listening. It's ultimately their show, they won't just cow down for the listeners; because, we all want different things from this podcast. That is evident with all of the varied griping that has been posted.

HDTGM has put out 33 episodes of free content, almost all of it being talk about movies. I think they can take 10 minutes of a bonus episode to try to help boost the ratings of their friend's show.

Unfortunately many people on this board doesn't understand how the business works. I have no qualms about a bunch of people from BFF going onto Earwolf shows to promote their new shows. I understand that they are doing this. They want to drum up support and viewership in an ever dwindling audience. I'll probably check it out just based on these appearances and if I don't like it, so what. If I do, then their advertising was successful. And by supporting their show, it will allow them to produce more content that I enjoy. It's just part of the way things operate.

Like when Vanilla Ice was on, he was promoting his show in exchange for being on the podcast. Do I mind this? Not at all. It's just the way things are. The same with advertisers. I have no problems about Legal Zoom or Amazon or Audible supporting these shows because I'm not paying for them and I am willing to send a few dollars their way to justify them supporting the show. I don't mind sitting through the ads since, at the end of the day, these things cost money to make (studio time, engineers, etc...) and they are providing it for free.

Also, Paul Scheer, at the beginning of this episode, clearly states that they have friends on from BFF. If you couldn't figure out there might be some plugging then the blame only lines on you.

Lennon and Jessica are also on the latest episodes of Doug Loves Movies and Fitzdog Radio, so maybe that's adding to the perception of 'BFF overload'... I think we're burying the lede here, though: Finally, HDTGM takes on an Eddie Murphy joint!

Did anyone see the new one where he can't talk? I didn't, because I was in the next theater watching the new Megan Fox movie where she's in a Michelin Man suit the whole time...

Alright, alright we got it. Some people don't like plugs, some people don't like that people don't like plugs. Can we just talk about how much we don't want to watch Pluto Nash?

... just be nice to each other, please? I really don't like having to do any actual moderating around here.

Yeah...being that this is a free podcast I can see where they have to get creative when it comes to acquiring some sustaining revenue. This is a pioneering venture so people should be expecting more covered wagon and less luxury vehicle.

I haven't had the displeasure of watching Pluto Nash so needless to say I'm looking forward to catching that in my home dootie theatre this weekend.

//I think Mark Nash is just upset because they're going to be making fun of his brother next week.//

(Those //'s are the punctuation I invented to denote sarcasm, use them as you like!)

Anyway, I will plug something else since plugs are awesome and plugs plugs plugs

Check out the AV Club's write-up on Pluto Nash for more perspective! -- http://www.avclub.com/articles/eddie-murphys-sleepy-years-case-file-171-the-adven,45131/

I haven't seen this movie except for clips but it just seems interminable. Good luck, all!

I actually saw this movie not long after it left theaters and its on my buck list.....of things to never do again before i die....

Deep dramatic narration of a story that pulls you in....then drops you flat on your ass and laughs at you.

We love Lennon and Jessica. UCB performers getting a t.v show? We are a community that supports each other. All the negativity is misguided and lame.

Their upcoming episode next week is going to make all of you trolls eat their heart out!

Remember idiots this is the mini-ep. It would not have been that long anyway. Who cares about the show plug. Besides, you love the UCB guests on CBB and other Earwolf shows right? BFF is chock full of UCB performers.
