Listening to the end now, good stuff. Nice reminder that everyone should both read and watch the film of The Kid Stays in the Picture, the Robert Evans autobio. I also really need to catch on Rebels now that I watched the end of the Clone Wars series, which is every bit as good as Paul and Jason were saying. And Leisure Suit Larry memories, good times.

So next week is Ninja 3: The Domination, continuing the general low budget 80s action trend. Should be fun.

I love The Clone Wars, and I really enjoyed Rebels

It's so great, all that Dave Filoni stuff has been great. As a person who is old enough to be one of those obnoxious fans who has loved Star Wars all his life and only loves the original trilogy etc., it annoys me no end how much some "fans" sneer at the animated series or anything that Lucas didn't teabag himself. Honestly I think it's the best thing to come out of the prequels. I'd rather watch that concluding movie again before at least half of the canonical big screen ones.

Paul was closer than he thought when he suggested the first Leisure Suit Larry was text based: It was actually a remake of the text only adventure game Soft Porn Adventure.

One of the most baffling things about next week's movie, Ninja 3: The Domination is that there's no Ninja 1 or Ninja 2 that it follows. It's not like Rambo 3 that follows First Blood and Rambo: First Blood part 2. And it's not like Star Wars where they added Episode IV to the re-release to make it seem like a serial. They pretty much went, "Well there's are at least two other unrelated Ninja movies that I can think of, so let's make this Ninja 3."

This is the second time that Paul has read a C&O from me but did attribute it to me.  I’m beginning to feel like Homer when Mr. Burns wouldn’t remember his name.

If Paul doesn't know your name it means he likes you and doesnt want to mispronounce it maybe?

I can't believe Anonymous asked for MG children's books that are also movies when our dear friend Daniel Radcliffe has been on this podcast! (Probably why she didn't leave her name. FLIPPED and HOLES are also good one offs if you don't want to commit to the whole HP series.)

Shouldn't you be at work? ...Wherever it is that you work?

Oof magoof, I used the wrong bike! HERE is the correct Megaforce inspired flying motorcycle. I REALLY wanted to have Angelino Statham stopping by the Sharkies on the Santa Monica Pier(he loooves fish tacos), and the In-N-Out, but a quality model was not available. paulmini2.thumb.jpg.2e608f86ee5887ab050793c08f75091e.jpg

After reading that book I'm honestly alive that Robert Evans is still alive at this point, the dude might as well have cocaine for blood at this point.

There were two previous movies by the same Production company "Cannon Films", even starring the same actor, Shô Kosugi. although in 3 very different roles. The First was "Enter the Ninja", which I found on PlutoTV, The Second was "Revenge of the Ninja" Also on Pluto, or Vudu for free, and then this one. There is no continuity of Story, or of any single character, so watching them all won't add anything except a bad taste in your mouth. You can trust me on that, or blame me for pointing out where to find them. LOL

I just watched the first two as well. The first one is trash. The second one is pretty enjoyable actually, but by no means "good". Looking forward to the third one!

There were so many terrible "ninja" movies in the 80s but for my money there are none worse than the tales of Ninja Master Gordon by Godfrey Ho:

Does anyone know a place to watch this other than Amazon Prime? Im willing to pay but I'm not joining Amazon Prime for a month just to watch this.

I haven’t read the book but I did see the doc in theaters. It was interesting and Evans has produced some great films, but I remember being a little turned off by the self-aggrandizing, which I suppose comes with the territory.

Another book that I really liked about Hollywood in the 60s and onward was William Goldman’s Adventures in the Screen trade and its sequel. I don’t know if they’re still in print.

i also really liked Noah Baumbach’s doc on Brian DePalma, called (weirdly enough) DePalma.

There’s an app called Reelgood that does a pretty good job of showing where—or if—a movie is streaming. Apparently right now it’s only on Epix or is rentable.

Thanks. This worked. Pretty excited to see this because a Golan Globus 80s ninja movie would have been right up my alley as a kid.

If anyone else has already used their free trial on Prime, you can use the free trial on the Epix app. You can not use the free trial of Epix channel through Amazon Prime unless you already pay for Prime.

And now I feel like a goof as I remembered today that Evans died at the end of last year.

I'm honestly surprised anyone doesn't enjoy Amazon Prime, especially during the Stay-At-Home time we're in. I've been a Prime member since 2007. and haven't even thought of cancelling it in all that time. And Prime Video isn't even 10% of the reason. Then again, I have lived in the boonies most of the last 20 years, so delivery was a nice thing. Cheers to you not needing it, except occasionally.

I would make a cocaine-related joke, but that might be in poor taste. I’m not having a Jason day today, I guess. Maybe tomorrow!

Oddly wasn't coke that did him in, just old age/natural causes. Plus given how Evans lived his life, I don't think poor taste is in his vocabulary.

I saw that this week’s episode hasn’t been posted yet.  Is there any chance that because the film is so cop-centric that they opted not to do it given the current climate in the country?
