I came to know this film when I listened to the soundtrack, composed and recorded by one of my favorite bands, Pat Metheny Group (specifically Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays). I was even more delighted when I learned that David Bowie collaborated with Metheny/Mays to write a song for the film (the instrumental version of which serves as the basis for much of the incidental music throughout).

 

Needless to say, I love this soundtrack. So, I decided to check out the movie.

 

Wow. That's all I can say. This movie is so bland and vague, its hard to even tell what's going on sometimes. The story, which is based on actual events, seems fairly interesting but the film is executed so poorly, its incredible.

 

Please give this one a chance, I promise you will not be disappointed.
