Episode 178 — Motor Boating Around Town

Recommended Posts

School's back in session so it was only a matter of time before our 16 year-old intern Marissa Wompler made her way back to the studio to help co-host today’s Comedy Bang Bang! Marissa gets schooled on Grimace, The Fat Boys and motor boating by none other than Rob Corddry! Rob also offers Marissa some expert advice on her recent heartbreak. Plus, we get one special turd of information about what’s to come up on the season finale of Childrens Hospital. Womp It Up!

I could listen to Wompler drop some bon mots all day. A Who's Harry Crumb and a This Is How We Do It reference?!

If anyone remembers the video for This Is How We Do It, it takes place at some house party. At the beginning some dude walks past the camera enjoying the music and his sandwich way too much. I made a gif of it a few years ago.

Does anyone know the record for recurring characters? (Other than that insufferable "Choctaw" feller.)

By my quick count, which could very well be wrong:

Wompler: 7 episodes (6 full shows, 1 stop in)

Ice Tea: 7 episodes (at least 2 of those are call ins)

ALW: 7 episodes (8 if you count a two parter as two, at least 1 is a call in)

Cake Boss: 6 episodes (7 if you count a two parter as two)

Jesse Ventura: 5 episodes

Huell Howser: 5 episodes

El Chupacabra: 8 episodes (at least 2 episodes are quick, a la XMas/Anniversary shows)

Bobby Bottleservice: 5 episodes

So, I'd say it's up to the individual to weight what counts in an appearance. Wompler is definitely a top 3 return guest.

Marissa Wompler is probably my favourite recurring character. I think I need to go relisten to all the old ones again.

Also, love the new site!

This may be controversial but I really liked this show. Like always Jessica St Clair was a delight and find her to be exceedingly lovely. I expected Rob to be funny and I am happy to say, he was. Scott was ok.

I want it to turn out that Seth is Bob Ducca under an alias, then Scott and Marissa will be stepbrother and sister.

NBC should always be in last place for ratings after getting rid of BFF. Jessica and Lennon are the absolute best. I woke up at 4 am and I frigging had the biggest smile on my face because of your guests.

I love this idea, but somehow I always imagine Seth as Tim Heidecker.

The part about the Jerry Garcia faces kissing killed me. The last couple "Would You Rather?"s have been amazing.

Man, picking a top ten this year is going to be tough. I feel like there's been far more brilliant episodes than "okay" episodes, and this one, despite having no real major character revelations or a real arc, is one of the most downright fun episodes of the year.

And possibly the best Would You Rather ever?

Dammit,

How much longer will we have to wait until Womp Up the Jams! becomes the next earwolf podcast?

Since all these other podcasts are being added, what's one more? Let's make Womp Up the Jamz a reality.

Maybe just wishful thinking, but the way they were talking about it here, I kind of thought it's really in the works.

Great episode, I just hope Kulap doesn't listen.

I'm intrigued by the Choctaw's political views and wish to subscribe to his newsletter.

This is my first time listening to the podcast. I'd read a review about some hot man-on-underaged-girl action on iTunes, and had to check it out. I'm glad my wishes came true, I can't wait to hear week after week of his Hot Saucerman (talk about a porn name!) and Marissa "womp it up" for an hour. I thought "earwolf" sounded kind of dirty, but this is kinkier than I expected.

Now it turns out Scottobot and Wompler might be brother and sister? Talk about a fetish podcast. Five thumbs up!

NEW NO-NO: If Marissa Wompler is going to keep appearing on Comedy Bang! Bang! this frequently, then I am allowed to listen to and enjoy every one of those episodes!

Bob Ducca under a Seth alias? That would be a crazy reverse-fourth-wall-break and therefore must happen.
