Tuesdays are the day I'm supposed to be mad that Professor Blastoff is pushed off the front screen by a bunch of new podcasts. And then I4H comes and does the same thing? With a lot of Victoria Jackson bashing?

Now I know what it's like to be the fourth person in a dysfunctional squarriage. I love you all so much but we're all so bad for each other.

It's a St. Election's Day miracle!

Thanks Matt for expressing more eloquently and hilariously than I can about how infuriating it is to debate people who don't accept logic, facts, and reality, yet are convinced that they're always right. SNL cast members of the '90's have a tendency to go off the deep end (though Tim Meadows is still awesome as ever).

Crossballs was a great show. If you could bring that format back in any way, shape, or form, people would enjoy it very much indeed.

Florida voter here. My co-worker said he isn't voting today when I asked him because he just doesn't want to deal with thinking about all the issues, doing the research, etc. I think a lot of people feel that way and I'm not sure how to get them motivated to spend a few hours deciding how to vote. They just don't feel like it is worth their time no matter what I say. I definitely prefer people who know nothing about the current propositions, etc. staying home instead of randomly casting a vote, but I mostly prefer everyone being in the know and voting, giving us a true representation of the people.

Any suggestions besides "If you don't vote, you can't listen to I4H."

I voted today in the great state of Alabama!

Just to be clear I voted for Obama because I vote on social issues (i.e. I want to keep listening to I4H). Economics, taxes, and foreign policy are difficult to understand for most people and I think that's why they are overcome with apathy. On the other hand, social issues are pretty cut and dry in my mind.

I would not vote for Romney because he is a homophobic, xenophobic, racist, elitist moron with no public speaking skills and very few good ideas. Sorry to bitch, but I cannot describe how angry I was voting next to fat, old, stupid white people with full blown betees complaining about universal health-care. Why is my state filled with willfully ignorant people?!?

I had no idea Victoria Jackson was loony.

The thing with polygamy is that what ends up happening is rich and successful men have many wives, leaving poor men little chance of getting a wife, which leads to a lot anger, and eventually, crime.

The story of Sodom always makes me laugh when used to say being gay is worthy of punishment. I remember sitting in a Bible study as an adult and just saying, "Yeah...but, really, I think God was upset that he sent an angel and all the men in town tried to rape it." Like you guys said, it had nothing to do with it being gay sex, but just about rape. Maybe we should be more focused (the right) on how badly God brought down his anger on rapists.

God has ways, if it's a legitimate angel rape, so I'm told, of shutting that down when it happens.

The god is the bible didn't mind rape too much. Remember he had Lot give his daughters the the rapists, so his angels would be pure.

He seems not to mind women getting raped.

Remember he also killed Job's entire family just to prove a point to the devil.

God seems to be a bit of a selfish asshole.

+1, good sir

It just dawned on me that an episode of How Did This Get Made with Victoria Jackson dissecting Prometheus would potentially be the most entertaining thing to happen in the history of the world.

I thought God intended rape to happen?

Too bad Victoria dropped out, that would have been an interesting discussion; but it was still a great episode. I hope all of the Americans on this board vote today.

About ten years ago I first heard about Victoria Jackson being bonkers, and I had that same weirded out feeling Matt was talking about. It's just strange to see her be so hateful and ignorant, when a comedian should be able to logically analyze and see flaws in everything. How can you truly comment on society and life when you staunchly believe and spew dumb shit all the time?

I didn't mind her on SNL, she was serviceable. Jan Hooks was leagues better, and I'm glad Nora Dunn got a shout out. I always felt Dunn was under appreciated.

Oh yeah, and I voted so I can still listen.

I'm relatively sure watching Jan Hooks on SNL is the reason I've always been attracted to extremely funny ladies (I'm 35 now). She was awesome. Nora Dunn was also funny, I'll never forget the Phil Hartman/Frankenstein "FIRE BAD!" sketch where he just lost it after listening to her talk show host questions and proceeded to knock over the set wall running away.

I was secretly hoping that Vicky would post some weird political non sequiturs on this board. That would be fun.

I've never had the opportunity to really speak to someone opposed to gay marriage, but I always want to ask them what they think of Canada. We've had gay marriage now for over 7 years and pretty much no one cares any more.

I'd be infinitely curious to see what they say about that.

And yet, in four years' time, after things have not in fact turned to shit, they will continue constructing their fiction of victimization and rationalize America's continued existence as the result of their own efforts of resistance against their Socialist Islamist Communist Boogeyman.

The story of Lot and his daughters is always one of the biggest WTF moments in the Bible to me. These two girls live in a cave with their Dad. Since there's no men around they both say, well let's get our dad drunk and "lie with him so that we may preserve our family line through our father." It also says "he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up"

It doesn't really make it clear whether this is supposed to be right or wrong, it's just presented as something that happened. So all you can come away with it thinking is it's okay for women to rape their Dad's if there's no other men around to get them pregnant.

This is in Genesis chapter 19 just after some of the stuff about Sodom and Gomorrah.

This is in Genesis chapter 19 just after some of the stuff about Sodom and Gomorrah.

There is so much stuff when you hear it for the first time, usually in Sunday School as a teenager, you just look around like, "Is this what we're doing? Seriously?" I remember that being used as a cautionary tale right before prom. It was supposed to be this thing about how premarital sex was wrong because...well...I guess because LOOK AT THIS.

Afterwards I told the girls in the group, "So just so we're clear, no one sleep with their fathers tonight. Mine is dead so I'm good and ladies...wide open as well."

After leaving the church for more than a decade and coming back a few years ago (short lived) this story got told one Sunday and it hit me, "Oh yeah, this is why I left. This $hit is crazy."
