  1. Is there a thread where we can post art we make for this podcast? Thanks, Alan
  2. It's time for plugs. I hope Scott gets the joke and lets this play out. Either way it would be great to be on the show.

Over the Top - Opening Weekend

I think it's interesting to note that it was Platoons 9th week in theaters.

    Star Trek: Into Darkness

And I see the opposing trend in movie making. Directors not caring about the script. It feels like every Sci-Fi director says, "Let's make it pretty, don't worry if it doesn't make sense, if people will believe a trillion ton space ship can go 10 times the speed of light they'll believe anything." For instance [spoilerS] Kahn says, "Give me back my people." Kirk says "No." Kahn says, "How about I just shoot out your life support and take them." Yeah, why doesn't Kahn do that? He's already talked about his savegry. It's not like he's a super nice guy. It's not like he cares at all about all the other people he's killed. This isn't a plot hole, this is just bad writing. [/spoilerS]

    Flash Gordon (1980)

I don't think the little people on leashes was meant as camp. There are a lot of legitimately terrible things about this movie.

    Star Trek: Into Darkness

I just saw this movie on DVD and I wanted to pile on. So I'm supposed to look past all of the plot holes, no matter how big, or stupid? Cuz there are a lot. Really? I don't remember any. I'm not the biggest TNG fan, but none that I can think of in TOS. No, you can make a good sci-fi movie that appeals to a lot of people without it being stupid. (e.g. Aliens, The Fifth Element, Star Wars, etc.) If by well made, you mean, pretty, then you are right. They are well made. I'll take your pity either way. P.S. Movies need to make sense. Just because it's Sci-Fi doesn't excuse plot holes, poorly constructed plans, or malformed motivations.
  7. Paul, June and Jason are all accomplished writers. I believe most movies can be helped a lot if someone would spend five minutes to talk about what could be changed about a script to be fixed. For Instance : "Making the movie 'Nothing But Trouble,' less gross would have helped it a lot." That took 10 seconds. I realize there are a lot of movies that can't be helped, but even that would be funny to hear about in a segment.

    Double Dragon (1994)

My favorite part of this film is when Alyssa Milano kicks the villian into the pit and stands over her and says, "Now who's the boss?" And there's this really long pause as if the director said, "Hold on this shot for a really long time, because there will be so many people screaming and cheering that we won't want to miss anything by cutting away too soon."

    Transporter 2 (2005)

I'm hoping now that the voting site is up more people can get this movie moved up in the list. And for those of you on the fence, "Jason Statham plays baby sitter driving an 8 year old to the doctor, while the mob tries to kill the powerful senator played by Mathew Modine." That alone should sell it for you. Get out there and vote! http://fyi.earwolf.com/

    Transporter 2 (2005)

Number 2 is definitely the best. I could write a thesis paper on how ridiculous the hospital scene is. That and the jet ski that defies the laws of physics by getting faster as it grinds the asphalt makes #2 a must review.

    Episode 8 - Evolution

Here's Emo telling the joke. It makes a lot more sense when he tells it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PW8_H-g9brw
