This podcast has a lot of virtues but I think we can all agree that it's chief vice is its complete lack of guest appearances by professional philosophers. This is especially surprising given that no professional academic group loves to be on podcasts more than philosophers. Furthermore, philosophers of my generation and the one above are super-into making people think we do not wear jackets with elbow patches, and so we're desperate for the attention of comedians/musicians/people who do not wear elbow patches. Finally, there are a ton of great philosophers nearby (e.g. UCLA, USC) so I can't see any reason for me to not get my wish of hearing one of my colleagues on Professor Blastoff. So, if you want a guest philosopher and need some help recruiting one, just lemme know.
