Yor, the Hunter from the Future (1983)
nateslice replied to Crary's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
Oh, man, I saw this in the theater when I was just a little slice, and I thought it was so awesome! Looking back on it... I'm really grateful to my mom for taking me to see it and then tolerating my nerdgasms afterwards. I'm waiting to hear back from Pope Francis on that nomination for my mom's sainthood. -

The thing I don't get is, why does he keep losing, when he can see the future? -
This low-budget sci-fi comedy from 1980 is most notable for starring Dorothy Stratten, the tragically murdered Playboy Playmate, in the title role as a multi-purpose android. It also has Avery Schreiber and Tad Horino, who you probably don't know by name, but when you see them you'll go, "Oh, hey, it's that guy! The one from... that thing. Yeah, him!" And it had a three-breasted alien hooker ten years before Total Recall did. Here's the official trailer...

I agree! This would be a great one. It's stupid in that special way that makes it awesome, like a classic Van Halen song... with a Tia Carrere nude scene added. Sort of. I mean, actually, they used a pretty obvious body double for that scene, but she looked so good herself that I'm not complaining.

No Really, How Did These Get Made?

Super Troopers is a low-budget raunchy comedy that gets funnier every time you see it. It also has a lot of hilarious behind-the-scenes stories you'll only know about if you watch it with directors' commentary on. -
MOD NOTE: Please check existing threads before posting a new one

I also need to apologize. I'm a new member, and I just made a new thread recommending Double Trouble before doing a search for the title and seeing that there was another thread about that movie eight months ago. I should've done that search first, and then necro'd that old topic. I'm sorry about that. I'll keep that in mind in the future. Edit: Oh, I see my topic has been combined with that previous one already. Thanks, mods! -
A delightfully terrible action-comedy starring The Barbarian Twins, Peter and David Paul. One plays a cop, the other a (like, 300-pound) cat burglar. I watched this with a couple of friends back in the 90s, and it was a blast. Two of us were tossing around commentary suited for a high-falutin' arthouse flick... "such a gripping examination of the duality of man", "his use of the kitchen sink as a litterbox symbolizes the classic male inability to nurture"... all sorts of artsy-fartsy bullshit like that. Our other friend was just groaning, both at the terrible movie and at our affected pomposity. I'd really like to hear Paul, Jason, and June's take on this movie. I think it'd make for an awesome podcast.

While listening to this podcast, I had a weird thought occur to me... Roger Moore is the British version of Adam West. Tall, handsome (even when very, very, very old), hammy, ultimately self-parodying... exemplars of earlier eras when their respective franchises went into a period of not taking themselves at all seriously... yep, they're pretty much the same guy, apart from one of them speaking Queenglish instead of Americanese.
