    The Watch (2012)

I really wanted it to be good because I am a Richard Ayoade fan and I generally like the other guys. I'm going to watch it again and take some notes. But here are some general thoughts. They mention that Stiller's character always starts clubs. Were there other examples besides the running club and now the neighborhood watch? Does R. Lee Ermey's character even live in the neighborhood? Why do they even end up at his house? They find that orb at R. Lee Ermey's house. That seems so shoved in there. After they find the orb, now they are definitely out in the country. What? This seems just to set up (SPOILER) the Costco exploding later. The initial meeting of the watch seems like there were no written lines, and they were just asked to wing it. A couple of scenes that seem haphazard: The Watch checking out customer in the Costco from a camping display. Stiller and Vaughn have a scene on a park bench in the neighborhood. Setting just seems random. [*]The aliens look terrible. Maybe this was on purpose to make it more campy. [*]SPOILER: Ayoade's character being an alien. Leaving. Then coming back to save them. Huh? I guess I probably just had too high of hopes for this movie. I did love the scene where Ayoade's character is shooting and reloading in slow motion at the end. It was amazing.

    The Watch (2012)

This movie is terrible. Big names, filthy jokes, aliens, no laughs. Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill are often left to just improv their lines. At least I hope they are improv. I heard that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg were brought in later to try to make this movie more appealing to a Super Bad type audience. I have a lot to say about this movie, but I wanted to see what others thought before I unleashed on it. 17% on Rotten Tomatoes http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_watch_2012/ http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=neighborhoodwatch.htm
