YES! I was waiting for Scheer or somebody else to point this out, but they never did! How could they miss this?!

It was definitely a recording studio with "sets" for "inspiration." But gotta break it to ya': the Beatles were doing music videos in the 60's. And they weren't even the first ones. MTV hadn't started until a year after Xanadu, but there were plenty of music videos before that.
