Is that just with movies? Or is it with life, too? Do you have to make a tape like in that Adam Sandler movie to show her every 1-2 days to remind her that you guys are married? Or, were you guys never really married and you just found someone with a rare disease and showed her a tape saying you were married?

Yessss...this is a really good one. Does it only include voiceover/narration, or can it include shitty explanatory title cards? I know there have been quite a few that we've seen this last "year," but the biggest one that comes to mind is The Covenant. The whole introductory exposition (introsition, maybe?) is so lazy and obnoxious, and so many films do it. A lot of video games have started doing it over the past 5-10 years, too, and I have the same feeling about both. Like, when I'm playing a video game, I don't want to have 15 minutes of exposition to start playing the game. I want to get into the game and let the plot unfold through good storytelling and gameplay. And that goes even moreso for movies. You don't have gameplay to keep me interested, so your first 10 minutes should be what draws the user in. If you use that time to throw a bunch of boring language that essentially equates to white noise at me, why the fuck should I keep watching? I'd rather a filmmaker throw me into the middle of a scene that doesn't totally make sense to me at the moment rather than spending the first few minutes essentially just telling the audience that they were too lazy to use their story to explain what the hell they were doing. Basically, it breaks the first rule of any kind of fiction writing: show; don't tell. Anyway, that's my "introsition" rant and a really long way of saying that I think it's definitely a sign of a bad movie which would make a wonderful Howdies category.

I thought they already announced she was alive because of the vote on Twitter.

Seriously. But, then again, I don't understand why people love this series so much. So I don't expect SyFy to figure it out either.
-
I only know this because of that awful Columbus Day episode of The Sopranos.

Can we just do a whole episode where the gang talks about their shitty pre-acting jobs instead of a movie? Or, they could have PFT on, and the Pauls could swap stories about working in video stores.

Threads over, folks. The new guy just won.

HOW IS THIS MULANEY'S FIRST HDTGM APPEARANCE?! I've only listened to about half of the episode, but he is my new favorite guest. He's just delightful.

I wish I could agree. Maybe if it had been even remotely self-aware, it would have saved it (or if using more than 10% of her brain hadn't made her act like Rain Man) . I normally like bad, over-the-top movies, but I hated this as much as everyone else seems to hate BvS.

I finally got around to watching this tonight because it's been on HBO for a couple weeks. I don't think I've hatewatched a movie as intensely as I did this one. Read my signature for my review of this fucking garbage.

I saw this on Twitter. It's not okay. Please go think about what you've done.

And also listen to all the other episodes because Leonard Maltin is the best.

"Gorilla hug" is now in my work search history. I like to keep our IT department guessing.

Amy! I'm so sorry! Like everyone else said, you don't have to apologize. That's some rough shit.

Interesting. I'm struggling to keep up with even TV shows that I love because of the DLM Challenge. But I heard REALLY good things about Hand of God.
-
I haven't seen the show, but is it really about the Cold War as a whole? Like, I know that's the setting, and I think Felicity and the other dude are supposed to be Soviet spies, but I assumed it was more of a character drama than a historical drama.

I wish he had weighed in on the Great Coconut Debate. I was really close to calling the Ask/Ass Paul number to get his input, but I figured they had already recorded the ep by the time we got into that.

I just want to point out that Paul got your name right on the first try. Such a rare, amazing occurence.

FRIDAY SURPRISE! Can't wait to hear what kind of sense Paul tried to make out of our stupid thread.

Mmmmm....Maui Brewing Co. makes a really good coconut porter, but I didn't know Oskar Blues did! I'll have to check that out. Porters are my favorite beers, and I like the coconut taste of the Maui one (although nothing beats 512's Pecan Porter). -

OMG. When the second guy comes on in the My Sacrifice video. I just busted out laughing really loud in my quiet office. It took me by total surprise. -
