Yeah, and I'm hoping they don't use it again. Not to start a whole "Why did they change the theme?!" discussion again, but I wasn't a big fan. Then again, it's better than anything I could come up with, I'm sure.

EPISODE 31 - Wine Tasting
FisterRoboto replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Yeah, I had the same thought. I spent a lot of my day at work on Friday reading Baby Hitler tweets, and then the timing was just right that they hit it this morning. A couple of other thoughts: This is the second KITH member on the show. How long before we see Scott, Kevin, or Mark? 9/11 was a Tuesday. -
Ummmmmm....X-Men are not Avengers, Paul. (Except Wolverine, but he's on every team)

I'm kind of disappointed that taylorannephoto wasn't here to participate in our JCVD gifs. But, on the other hand, it means she lost by default.
-
I totally forgot about Replicant until just now! Remember Double Impact? It's like that but worse (it's nothing like that, except that he plays two roles).
-
Can we talk about how he's wearing a JCVD hat? He's seriously the best ever.

This one is in that clip, but I'm going with it anyway because it's my favorite. Also, how has HDTGM not done more JCVD movies? If I remember correctly, we've only had Double Team and Street Fighter. We need some fuckin' Hard Target or The Quest up in this bitch! I'd even settle for The Expendables 2 if for nothing more than hearing Jason's reaction to

Edit: So glad this is the top post of a new page.

He must have flown away...

God damn it! That was going to be my next one! Guess this will have to do:

OH CAN WE DO JCVD GIFS IN THE MEANTIME?!
-
Teefury had a really good one yesterday: (Also, I kind of feel sorry for Nate having to read through all of our bullshit in this thread. Hope he found enough for Paul and the minisode)

At my theater, they started the movie at about 6:10 PM. We're in the US Central time zone, so that would be 4:10 California time. That meant when they hit 2015 in the movie, it was 6:29 Central / 4:29 Pacific. Also, a lady came in costume as the flux capacitor. She had a black shirt with a blue flux capacitor on it, silver hot pants + leggings, and bluish glow sticks wrapped all around her arms and in her hair (she also had an OUTATIME purse). It was really rad, and she won some Alamo passes for it.

I believe you mean "buttheads."

Very true. Whenever I think of the first movie, I always think of the stuff that happens in the third act because SO MUCH happens then. Then I'll sit down and watch it and go, "Oh yeah, there's still so much other movie before all of that!"

It's basically my second home. I live about a mile from the one that they're trying to use as their flagship here in Austin, and about three miles from the downtown one (which is the one that has the 70mm projector and thus where I'll be seeing Hateful 8 in December). I tried to get a job there to do their marketing, but they never called me back. And I might have drunkenly yelled at Tim League (Alamo founder) about it at Fantastic Fest this year. But he was drunk, too, so he might not remember.

I have my tickets for the night of the 17th! So pumped. My only theory is that Kylo Ren "isn't Sith" (as Abrams keeps saying) in the same way that Cumberbatch "wasn't Khan." Also, happy Back to the Future Day to everyone! I'm going to see BTTF 2 tonight at Alamo Drafthouse (a local theater/eatery/beer place in Austin that's starting to spread across the country), and it comes with a pint glass designed by Tom Wilson (Biff Tannen). I looked for a gif of this but couldn't find it (and am not at home where I could make it myself), so just have a stupid static image of aerobics ladies waving at Marty McFly:

I went a bit out of order and listened to that one right after the Jon Hamm episode from last month. And I'm glad I did. Those were two of the best episodes. It's almost criminal that Jon Hamm is as funny as he is.

Yeah, I hear that commercial on Hulu all the time. I feel sorry for Jason having to read that terrible, terrible copy. Also, I'm currently catching up on DLM (I was a couple weeks behind), and I'm on the one with Garfunkel and Oates + PFT as Werner Herzog. He has a really great Stellar Skateboard callback (is it a callback when it's from a different podcast?) that almost made me fall off my bike.
-
YES! She was on the Wild Horses show on Howl and was so delightful. I can't wait to hear her with PFT!

LARAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNE NEWWWWWWWWMAAAAAANNNNNNN

I'm not sure I know who you're talking about.

They recorded Death Spa at the other show on the same night as Perfect, so we'll likely see it next.

Haha. I'm glad I didn't watch the movie this time, then. I feel like I got everything out of it from the minisode thread and from listening to the ep. I do want to point out what a fucking star June has been recently. I know we all love her, but she's had some of my favorite bits from the past few episodes (like her thing from MotU about how garbage peasants need to get out of the sky). I was listening to some of the summer where June was missing, and it just really drove home how wonderful she is. Theory for you guys: I've always though that June says crazy shit and Jason makes fun of her for it. But I had a thought this week. When they're talking about the gangbang girl at the party or whatever, June says gangbang girl (from context in the episode, I'm assuming this was "Lorraaaaaiiiine Neeewwwwwwmmmmaaaannnnnnn"?) is "giving him the facts" and doing the reporting. I'm now thinking she just comes up with crazy shit to say just to wind Jason up and not the other way around. Which is amazing. What do y'all think?
