I almost went with "Shall we play a game?"

Bluish-white isn't too bad, either:

Well, at least it wasn't blue...

It's okay. We all know who I'm talking about.

I stand corrected. I meant to say that most of our conversations about the movies are in the main threads (in between all the stuff you mentioned), and that this is where we have all our fun. My favorite from the main thread are the ones that that are clearly posting their stream of consciousness over 19 consecutive posts as they listen to the episode. Bonus points if they're in random fonts.
-
We also tend not to do a lot of talking about the movie in the minisode thread because the good conversation often happens in the main threads, and this is usually our "fucking around and talking about comic books or some shit" thread. Oh, also, I haven't had a chance to watch this crapfest yet.

What the fuck happens to that leotard when she stands up straight? That looks so dangerous.

I just clicked the bottom spoiler tag and saw the video thumbnail. And now all I can hear is, "LARRRAAAAAAIIINNNNNNE NEWMAN!"

HOW DO YOU NOT REMEMBER HIM FROM FACE/OFF?! He's Gina Gershon's brother, and he's the one Cage is talking to when he's like, "I want to take his face.....off." Clearly this movie did not change your life enough, and you need to watch it again.

It's been a few episodes now that your interview guests have joined in on the game. Personally, I love it, and it's cool to see the show evolving. Is this something you've been encouraging? Or is it just something that's happening? I remember you being a bit stricter about the format early on (e.g., when Dave Foley tried to get into the conversation with the improvisers during their introductions), so were you just trying to establish things at that point? And then now that it's got a flow going, you can let it go where it will? Whatever the reason, the show keeps getting even better every week, and I'm not sure how because they're all wonderful.

My Top 5 Episodes: 1. Furious 7 2. Deep Blue Sea 3. Lake Placid 4. Face/Off 5.Jupiter Ascending My Top 5 Movies: 1. FURIOUS 7 (like, by a long shot) 2. Face Off 3. Deep Blue Sea 4. Con Air 5. TMNT 2 I almost consider Deep Blue Sea/Lake Placid episodes a 2-parter, even though they had different guests. But just the fact that they were similar-ish movies and had PFT on them, who clearly HATED both movies, made them so wonderful. That said, my favorite episodes are the ones where they genuinely love the movie for how fucked up it is. That's why Deep Blue Sea and the F&F movies are some of my favorites. I mean, I love it when Jason is so exasperated by how bad a movie is that he gets halfway through explaining a part of the movie and then just goes, "You know what? It doesn't matter." That's what got me listening to the show, but when they honestly love a movie, they just really get into it and seem to have more fun. Since they've been doing so many live shows this year, that fun becomes very infectious in the live crowds and makes a really enjoyable episode.

I agree, and that's why I strayed away from that. I honestly don't think that, with the exception of Left Behind (which has some seriously bonkers shit that's just bad writing and not just theological nonsense), I would want to have Cameron's movies for HDTGM. Ultimately, to do this with Fireproof or Saving Christmas would just be an episode making fun of his beliefs. And I feel like that would make the show a lot less good-natured.

One other comment on the app: It currently doesn't save where you are in an episode if the app closes. For example, I started listening to an episode on the way home from work Friday. I stopped it when I got home. Saturday, I went to a movie, so I turned my phone off, thus closing out the app. When I opened the app today, I had to go find where it had left off, because the episode was playing from the beginning.

I was actually thinking about him during this episode and how much I wish he had been the guest, mostly because of the episode of Indoor Kids with Ashly Burch where he just kept interrupting Ashly and Emily to talk about MotU. On an unrelated note, has anyone watched Perfect yet? I have a busy week, and honestly, this movie sounds terribly boring, so I'm debating whether or not it's worth it to actually watch the movie. Any verdict yet? And, finally, Paul doesn't really understand time travel, I think. In BTTF 2, the reason Marty is in the alternate 1985 (and there isn't another Marty around) is because he went back to the exact moment in time that he left 1985. In MotU, Courteney Cox and her dude go back to a time before they left. The alternate timeline hasn't been created yet; they're actually creating it by changing previous events. When you go to a point in time different than your actual present, your contemporary self will also exist. Unless it's like Rick and Morty and you go to a parallel universe in which you have already died and are assuming the life of your dead self. Oh, and that's BTTF rules (which are pretty common in time travel movies). Maybe they were actually going by Bill & Ted rules, though, which make no sense and let you do whatever the fuck you want.

I actually have. I have a weird fascination with evangelicals. I grew up around a lot of them (and probably would be one now if I hadn't gradually realized how full of shit many of them are). I've read all the Left Behind books, and I've seen all three of the movies with Kirk Cameron. I haven't seen the Nic Cage one, though. I've even seen Fireproof, which is the one where Cameron plays the firefighter who uses "The Love Dare" (no, seriously) to try to save his marriage. In fact, in that movie, Cameron refused to kiss any woman other than his real-life wife, so they dressed his wife like his character's wife and shot the only kiss between them in the shadows. I find this kind of bananas shit FASCINATING. That said, Saving Christmas is really fucking boring. Most of the movie takes place in a car and is like Kirk Cameron preaching at you as he knocks down as many straw men as possible. It's stupid, but it's not stupid in any kind of fun way.

Guests I'd Love To Hear of HDTGM

He also did the currently unavailable (at least on Earwolf) Smurfs episode. -
Now that the Howl Android app is out, I have a bit of feedback on it. I don't see any threads dedicated to it, so I'll just throw it in here and hope that someone sees it (or live in the delusion that someone cares). First off, I love the look of the app. It's very intuitive, and it definitely runs smoother than the website on mobile. A few suggestions: Media controls in notification bar. I'm not sure how to explain this exactly, but basically, any other media apps I use (Spotify, Google Music, Media Player, etc.) has the app show up in the notification bar. There are options to pause, skip forward/back, etc. Those options also show up on the lock screen. The biggest thing with this is that the OS recognizes the app as having media controls, so if I'm using headphones with button controls, I can pause the playback without having to unlock my phone and find the app. Playlists. This has been brought up before in this thread, but it's worth repeating. In my current podcast app (Podcast Addict), I can set playlists. So, let's say I want to listen to every CBB with Marisa Wompler because I heard the birthday episode last month and really want to get up to speed on all the Womp-lore. It would be great if I could go in and set a playlist, and then just let those episodes play. Instead, I have to go find the next episode each time. Not a huge deal, but considering that many podcasts apps have this functionality baked in, you probably need it to compete with them. "Lost" episodes. Weren't these supposed to be on Howl? I'm thinking specifically of the two HDTGM episodes that were removed (Green Lantern and Smurfs). Neither of those are on the app yet. Will those seem to be on Howl yet. Will those be added once the ad-free archives are implemented?

EPISODE 120 - Masters of the Universe

And Mattel really helped their case by borrowing heavily from Frank Franzetta's Conan paintings and by hiring Earl Norem to write many of the backstories (Norem had already spent almost a decade drawing covers for Marvel's Savage Sword of Conan). -
EPISODE 120 - Masters of the Universe
FisterRoboto replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
That's a different documentary about the same subject(s). The one they were referencing was called Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2125501/ Go-Go Boys is a different doc, but it's still about Cannon Films. Also, to answer Jason's question, Cannon did distribute Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo, but only after TriStar's initial distribution. There was a bunch of Cannon drama going on around the time. -

Well, Eternia is probably Jason's home planet anyway.
