Seeing the Iron Eagle post reminded me of another childhood favorite that not many people might know about. The Rescue from 1988 is about a group of Navy SEALs who are captured in North Korea and when the Navy abandons plans to rescue them their children steal the plans and go ahead with their own mission to get their Dads. It features a young Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon) and Marc Price who played Skippy on Family Ties. I haven't seen it in years and loved it as a kid but it might not be as great as my memories make it.
1999 was a good year for bad movies, this should definitely join the pile that already includes "Deep Blue Sea" and "Lake Placid". Another remake came out that year of "House on Haunted Hill" that wasn't great either.
