I've seen that too. He looks so bored and pissed. XD

I must admit: I've never heard of this one. What is it? A Prequel-Spinoff? Look amazing!
-
Really? XD That's hilarous! You're right. I pulled a shot:

Yup, wrote that on the first page. I even think she isn't the daughter of the boss of the paper. She has too much trouble asking for money and have her name spelled right.

Yeah, I thought "Well, if he has to get food for all of them, he has a lot to carry. But he won't be able to buy something anyway." But now, that I think of it: if you are a shop owner during that time, would you care where the money comes from? Even if you know that the boy might have stolen it, it is still money.

I think you calculated wrong. The weight of a ship of the Olympic-Class (like the titanic) is over 50,000 tonnes, so I don't think this small vessel was that heavy. (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympic-Klasse). Maybe about 90 tonnes and I think that still would be to much. But even though: you had to pay not only the weight of your ship but of your crew to. Not the weight, but the amount. How many where there? Maybe 10? So maybe they would have had to pay $140. Doesn't sound much, but at that time you could get a decent car for that money. Plus: they would have to register their passage which isn't very piraty. Tommy Guns where about $200 the piece? Fuck me, maybe they DID travel through the canal!

Even though I think your calculation of the distances and time is correct, they would never have used the Canal because it was way to expensive. During that time the canal was a financial disaster. Most of the ships still went around the south of Africa because you had to pay a lot of money to get through the canal (and you couldn't get through the floodgates unnoticed), because the company needed every franc they could get. So, maybe rich pirates might have used the canal but I don't think smuggling those weapons would have made enough money. Edit: I just read that around 1900 the average time saving using the canal instead of going around Africa was only 30 days: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sueskanal (article in German).

To be fair: Okinawa once was something like a country and not part of Japan. But that was before 1879 and between 1945 and 1972.

Yes, Southland Tales! A movie I watched and read the synopsis afterwards on wikipedia and wasn't sure if I have seen that movie. =D

I think the reporter played quite an important role: after she was on the phone and received the telegraphed message the movie cuts to Moore explaining JCVD that he can only be part of the tournament if he has an invitation. At that moment she enters and says she has the solution and we see them waiting at the station for Maxie. So I think she got telegraphed the news that Maxie will fight in the tournament and so it is practically her idea to use him to get into the tournament. But I do have some questions: - Why is she allowed to take pictures at that “secret” tournament? - Are we supposed to believe that the tournament is so secret, that the only way to be part of it is by invitation? And the map on it shows the way? Then no one will ever find the place, because the map shows nothing. There are mountains, two lakes, some roads and the name of an area called “Shan”, but nothing like a big X or an arrow saying “Go here”. No one will ever find this tournament. - At the beginning the mobster looks out of the window and the kid can steal the bag with the money. But he only goes to the window because Dubois is beating up the policemen. So, what was the plan here? Without the police showing up it would have never been worked.

EPISODE 115 — Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!

Just something about the two German podcasters: They aren’t podcasters. Actually they are tv-hosts, one of them is the biggest tv critic in Germany with his own satirical show, but the reason why they are in this movie seems to be something else. Those two host a show called “Die schlechtesten Filme aller Zeiten” (The worst movies of all time), where they show a bad movie and after every commercial brake they talk about. Not in the length like hdtgm, but they make some fun of it. And when they showed Sharknado it was also the free-tv premiere of the movie. There was also a sharknado-Party and stuff like that. They celebrated this movie (not that they liked it, they hated it). So I just think because they made so much fuss about the movie and a lot of people watched it here in Germany, they got this little cameo.
