So I don't know if the JCVD train left the station (I'm still on it). However, with Powers Booth's recent passing, I can't imagine a better time to do a memorial episode for one of the great 90s sleezeball villains.

Episode 57 - The Running Man and Die Hard with Steven de Souza: Live from Alamo Drafthouse

Great podcast. Shame /Film blatantly lifted the UPS Plane bit without even the courtesy of a shout out. -
Episode 149 - The Lawnmower Man: LIVE! (w/ Neil Casey, Emily Heller)
MattHilferty replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I'm glad Emily's laugh has become a topic of discussion. Seriously, I thought I was crazy when I shouted "Oh come the fuck on!" during my walk to work this morning. -
Seriously, is this one not up for discussion? I would love to hear Jason really lay into this movie.

What episode was it referenced on? Do you have a link to the thread?
-
I was referring to the Twitter post. Couldn't care less about what you said earlier. That's why I didn't reference your follow up in any way.
-
Well, there's your answer.

Alright, I'll back off.

And I'd argue that this place exists in a vacuum where he has a vested interest in not stirring up the shit he does everywhere.

Oh cool, another blanket label used to describe people who have a different opinion than you.

No, he still refers to them as allegations and resigns without any explicit ownership because the comment sections of his articles would be flooded "every single god-damn day". He's resigning because the allegations would be a distraction to BMD and Alamo Drafthouse (who I assumed forced him to resign). The problem here is that Devin is not someone you know. He's a guy who, yes, has a vast knowledge and understanding of cinema, but he's also a reprehensible human being (not even taking this incident into account) who has left websites like the Clintons left the White House and let his SJW agenda influence his work. He's responsible for the movement in film criticism where if you simply voice that you don't like something (whether it's because of quality or it just doesn't speak to you), then FUCK YOU you racist, homophobic misogynist. Love it when this kind of hypocrisy is exposed.

I think they've been playing a bit of catch-up to get back on track after missing a few weeks a short while ago. Paul: Thanks for pronouncing my name just like my Freshman Spanish Teacher!

I finally figured it out the mystery of the Briefs Pull-up moment after watching it more times than I should've at work: The pulling up the briefs is an editor's mistake. JVCD kept his briefs just covering his asscheeks before the take started, but is waiting for the director to call "Action" so he can pop them under his asscheeks to simulate the full roll-up. JCVD, the consummate professional that he is, is trying to give the editor enough coverage, who then proceeds to drop the ball with a poor cut. Omission/Fun Fact: JCVD is an uncredited editor on this one.
