Episode 162 - My Stepmother Is An Alien: LIVE!
NundercoverBrother replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
This was always on TV when I was growing up. Between HBO & Comedy Central afternoons, I think Ive seen all of this movie, but Ive never intentionally tried to watch this movie. All of my experiences with this movie has always led to me going "what the hell is happening here?" followed by changing the channel. -
This should not be confused with the other "Motorcycle Fast & Furious Knock-Off" Biker Boyz. This should be an episode because of Adam Scott, and Ice Cube and The Fastest Motorcycle in the world that does a sick double flip at the end - spoiler - Also do Biker Boyz.

Scott Eastwood was on the Joe Rogan Experience a few weeks ago and said they destroyed 700 cars in the movie. Majority of them in that NY scene. -

After the nonsense of the lack of continuity of the Xmen movies, the FF time line doesnt upset me any more than the average soap opera or pro wrestling angle. The Family was not thrilled about Owen Shaw joining the group, but they definitely didnt put up any fight other than "C'mon man, really? No Way. Ok then" Scott Eastwoods character is pretty limp. I thought he was going to be Brians estranged brother or something like that, but hes the Cousin Oliver of the family for sure. #ThankGodThisGotMade #ItAddsUpT2B -

I know this just came out today/last night. Its pretty rough. Even if youve not familiar with the source material: thermo camouflage used more because it looks cool than for actually hiding. Angry police chief who speaks only japanese while his subordinates only speak english. Consent. "This isnt white washing.... except when we white wash these people!" #AirHornAirHornAirHorn Stylized pg13 violence on robots. Armor piercing rounds that dont penetrate plastic and still kill humans with no blood. Trash collectors carrying heavy automatic weapons.

Ghost in the Shell (2017)
NundercoverBrother replied to NundercoverBrother's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
I saw the original movie only in 1995. Several times over my life including the day of the live action because I wanted to see what they would redo or adapt. I even own the soundtrack. However I have not seen the sequels or multiple animated series. So Im sure there are elements from those in this movie as well. The live action tries to redo entire shots from the movie. Lots of beautiful visuals. Psychedelic level visuals too. I think the story was a mess. I think after the big "twist" that wasnt a twist, that anyone could have played The Major. I think the only thing they got the closest to being like the movie was Batau. I think they toned down what little gore was in the animated movie for a pointless pg13 rating that didnt help their BO Draw as this weekend rounds to a close. Youre right, its also pretty boring.- 3 replies

I think this was the first movie I left the theater with the thoughts of "That wasnt a good movie." I would be 9 years old in this memory. -
Im 10 mins in. Poor June. She had to make up a whole other story and reasoning for what she was seeing on the screen other than what it was.

No Retreat, No Surrender (1986)

I bought this on RiffTrax a few months ago. I had never seen it before. The box was always in the video store. The artwork always made it look epic. Its written and directed by Stanley Tong who has a lot of Hong Kong movies under his resume which explains a lot. Stanley Tony took an average kung fu movie and all its tropes and put it in modern (1980s) Seattle. Evil Group harrassing local businesses for their own misdeeds. a fallen master. his son or student who must redeem the master. He has a sidekick. Theres a love interest. the local 2nd tier villain is always causing problems for the hero. 2nd tier villain buys and influences friends with food at the local restaurant. Fight at the restaurant. master learns from the student and redeems himself. It goes on from there. The bonkers part of this movie is Bruce lee (as mentioned), a complete emasculation of a karate master. and then the fight at the end some how resolves everything although it probably cause more problems than solve.- 17 replies

This is a special track because its the final song of Mortal Kombat before the credits and the opening song to Hackers. Good pull.

Itd be wrong to not include the titular song to No Holds Barred

Lets not forget the hype song for the intro to Fast & Furious 6
