  1. Cloris’ cameo is when it really clicked for me that this was in the 70s lol Steve Martin’s hair was a great clue too, but hair changes so fast.
  2. I had forgotten about Rowlf and was completely delighted by him. He should be a more popular Muppet. I enjoyed most of the music, I think the 'Moving Right Along' one was my favorite. Someone recently ruined the Rainbow Connection for me, so that started this movie off on the wrong foot. I work at an aerial studio, and at our student showcase, a woman did a very odd dance with a Lyra and a hula hoop to that song. It popped into my head immediately as the song started.
  3. I guess personally, I wouldn't assume that it was going on forever until like day 30. Then I'd start spending all my money. Or buy a plane ticket outta there.
  4. I would say yes at 12 days she was just done because of the images of the 12 Days of Christmas lyrics. But she never saw them, so its not like she knew "ok I have one more try to make this right". Which honestly makes the 'spending all my money' day and the day where she just gave up a whole day after the kid jumped over garbage all the more baffling. Why waste it?
  5. This reminds me how sad I felt for the giant muppet that got left behind. I was glad he showed up at the end but I was really bummed he didn't find them before then.
  6. My favorite is thinking about Toby's day. He has a nice blind date planned for Christmas Eve (which...why are so many people going on blind dates on Christmas Eve?) and decides to get to the bar hours early, or at least waits for hours at a bar for her. Some random woman shows up, announces that this date is never going to show up. She then bullies him into changing his wardrobe and takes him to the mall for a shopping spree. Afterwards returning him to the same bar where her co-worker/best friend is waiting. After she has a quick drink with her own date, she then invites him over to her dad's house in another few hours. And he goes. And apparently falls in love with the co-worker immediately. His day is insane. Not to mention the other time where a weird woman slammed him against a wall and yelled at him for making her relive a day over and over.
  7. Something about seeing Muppets with their legs weirds me out. I don't know if they're just normally shot waist high (I assume so) but Miss Piggy's legs freaked me out. Also, in a world in which there are talking frogs apparently everywhere - if they're holding auditions, I assume this is the case - isn't having a restaurant they serve frog legs at akin to murdering people?
  8. The problem is there's way too many plots, they don't have time to show her getting the dog every time. There's no way that Kate even goes on the date with Miles on every day, half of them are her either stalking her ex or hanging out with the other girl characters. Also, who shares a dog with an ex? That seems like more trouble than its worth. Here are some stray observations from over the years: 1) For each 'new' day, the lyric from the song 12 Days appears (someone walks by carrying three hens with a french flag, the kid's hockey team is the Lords and on day 10 he jumps over that pile of garbage, I also haven't seen this in a year so I have no other examples) 2) Where the hell did Kate get her cookie decorating prowess from? She went from never baking to the next day doing intricate designs. Didn't they just bake the Cherry Chip loaf? 3) The neighbor has the best apartment I've ever seen. I love her. I hope her and the guy from the department store have a long happy life together. 4) Why would the star couple (who I find adorable) go to Kate's dad's house on Christmas Eve. In their eyes, this weirdo came over and butted into their lives, they got engaged and they decided to go to a party full of strangers? Why are any of those people there? 5) Do you think she made Toby pay for all those new clothes or she bought them for him? Also, I liked his glasses. 6) I would like to see the entire last day from start to finish to see how she manages to get all of these people together and become best friends with Toby, the star couple and Miles' kids. 7) I would have called the cops if I was her ex and she showed up while I was engagement ring shopping.
  9. I feel like being two hours early is a little insane tbh. And he orders a beer for her?! How rude is that? And what about when he... ok I’ve got nothing else. I have a lot of thoughts about this movie but I’ll wait til tomorrow so I can type it at work lol. Also I just watched The Muppets on dvd and there was anti smoking ad after all the Disney movie previews. With a website and everything. Weird.
  10. That’s because she’s the worst and never learns not to be self centered. I feel like this whole situation enforces her belief she’s the center of the universe. Also I’ve never seen Groundhog’s Day (gasp) because I’m really bad at seeing classic movies
  11. Something that always bothered me is I’m really happy you guys are all enjoying this movie. It’s my favorite tradition.
  12. My annual viewing will be on the 16th, but I have a lot of unanswered questions that I can discuss. The more times you watch it the more questions you’ll have. You’re welcome! Hallmark/Lifetime/ABC Family all have fun dumb holiday movies. Bonus points for 90s stars.
  13. Still on Netflix! Also, its awful so be warned. The main girl is just an awful human being. Oooh - It wasn't on Prime last year! I should just buy it now. I was always looking for the physical dvd. Maybe they cleared up the lawsuit! https://www.thewrap.com/abc-sued-over-12-dates-christmas-movie-concept-73031/
  14. I'm watching it for Rizzo the Rat. In all honesty, I just prefer lighthearted kid-like or made-for-tv Christmas movies. Muppet's Carol and The Year Without a Santa Claus are my must see holiday movies. My best friend and I watch the ABC Family movie 'The 12 Dates of Christmas' every year while drinking wine and eating cookies. Its a terrible movie. I'm so scared Netflix will remove it one year because apparently we can't buy it anywhere due to a lawsuit.
  15. I don't believe I've ever seen this Muppet movie. I think I've only seen Muppet Treasure Island and A Muppet Christmas Carol. Maybe the Manhattan one? But the two I've seen, I've seen over and over again.
  16. I was just in Disney this past week and they do a whole bit on Colonial America with Sam Eagle and it reminded me how much I love him. Fozzie Bear was my favorite as a kid due to Muppet Treasure Island and the PC game that my brothers and I were obsessed with.
  17. I feel like you're kidding, but I have been watching that trailer repeatedly since I first saw it. I actually do lyra and got very very excited when I saw Zendaya on one.
  18. I am just home from vacation and holiday stuff this week, so I'm planning on catching up on last week's this week! Fall/holidays are always a weird time - either way too busy or nothing happening. Apparently this year its busy. But if its to me, I can come up with one, no problem. Especially for December. Sorry not sorry.
  19. What's even weirder is the actor that plays Darcy is from New Zealand. He was on Grey's Anatomy recently, and they didn't really bother trying to hide his accent there. I still haven't seen the movie yet, so I don't have much to add
  20. I agree that the book deserves more running time. I just have a real hard time with mini series because I'm not good at self control or scheduling my time wisely. I know I'll want to watch all of it at once, but I never have the time, so I put it off for forever and now I'm here. This is also a problem I have with any tv show released in binge form.
  21. I love this Darcy (but I will say, I haven't see the Colin Firth version) And also this D'Arcy
