I only wanted to say that I call my dad Pops a lot of the time. I refer to him as dad to other people, but Pops to his face. Just so you know there's one person.

Episode 100 - A Shoe Store: Live from Largo (w/ Constance Wu, Sarah Burns, Marc Evan Jackson, Little Janet Varney)
SaraK replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
I am super curious as to what Constance's parents do to relax. They don't watch tv, they don't listen to the radio, they don't understand the internet very well... they just read I guess? -
Is the logo the same?

I want Paul to know, I appreciated the pause where he was just reading articles so I could also look up my own pictures and articles on this.

Episode 152 - The 2nd Annual Howdies Pt. 2
SaraK replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
The only complaint that I have is that under 'best audience abuse' one of the contenders wasn't from Deep Blue Sea. This exchange killed me: Guy makes bad pun about Rapport "BOOOOOOOO" "I'm taking a sticker back" 'You treat your audience like children in a preschool' 'Well IF THEY'RE GOING TO ACT LIKE IT' As someone that didn't listen to the Pete Holmes episode due to, ya know, screaming, this has been fun listening to these clips of that episode. -
My first one was EPISODE 338 — Be My Guest, Literally. It was a great one to come in on!

2016 Death Toll for CBB surprisingly contains off-air deaths as well. I'm a little worried for Andrew Lloyd Webber and Len Wiseman. Also, poor Gilly, this Valentine's day is going to be hard for her

"I will do this at an abandoned warehouse and there's a bunch of kids around..." "Then its not abandoned at all" "F..." "Just say it. Fuck you." That's where this episode went from good to off-the-rails great for me.

Episode 89 - Salem, Oregon Comic Shop (w/ Ron Funches, Jordan Black, Jeremy Carter, Jean Villepique)
SaraK replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Ron Funches is such a delightful person to listen to. He just seems so happy every time I hear him. Also, a soy dirty chai latte is my favorite starbucks drink. -
I'm not a super big fan of the Solo Bolos, usually quit halfway through, but the surprise Lin Manuel Miranda appearance was basically a reward for powering through it.

Since we're all experiencing election fatigue.... High school students Betsy Jobs (Kirsten Dunst) and Arlene Lorenzo (Michelle Williams) wander off during a class trip to the White House and meet President Nixon (Dan Hedaya). They end up becoming the official walkers of his dog, Checkers, and the secret advisors to Tricky Dick during the Watergate scandals. Honestly, I'm at a lost as to why this movie didn't have an 'alternate' title or even just more words in the title. And I look forward to hearing how many porn sites the HDTGM gang hit in search of this dumb dumb movie.

Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock are in this weird romantic comedy. A playboy real estate developer meets a activist lawyer and hi-jinks ensue. Hugh Grant's character has to hire a 'real' lawyer becuase he keeps hiring (and sleeping with) lawyers with terrible law degrees. Sandra Bullock is a hardcore activist lawyer who doesn't want him to tear down her favorite building, but she went to Harvard so...hired! Its cute but has a lot of weird side tracks within it. Everyone in it is delightful - Hugh Grant is at his Hugh Grantiness and Sandra Bullock is going though that clumsy, neurotic character phase of her career. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YG-vYfz8yM

When this movie came out in theaters, my dad and I went at my request. He still brings this movie up as a reason as why I'm not allowed to pick movies anymore. Well this, and Spiceworld. All I remembered prior to this rewatch was the giant teddy bear sequence. That is permanently burned into my memory.

Episode 50 - Santa Fe Art Gallery
SaraK replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
I'm a little sad there wasn't an acknowledgement of Eban playing "Everybody wants to be a cat" from Disney every time a cat was mentioned. It made me giggle every time I heard it. -
Body count at 2 for 2016? Todd and Alan Thicke? I feel like I'm missing someone.
