  1. This looks fun! I am leaving for vacation tomorrow, so I'll probably be late in jumping in. But I love Pride and Prejudice and I love musicals (obvi) so I'm sure I'll love this.

A Love Letter to Paul and June

I agree wholeheartedly, and would start a June chant with you if I could. June and Paul's determination to stand up for the programs and rights they believe in and the people that they believe in is part of what makes me happy to support this podcast. (Also this forum, and my love of bad movies)

Musical Mondays Week 24 Reefer Madness

Omg I can't believe I didn't recognize her. Step by Step was one of my favorite 'after school' shows.
  4. Either Zach or Jess is very distrusting of cats. This is the second musical where they've been evil.

Musical Mondays Week 24 Reefer Madness

Steven Weber was in the show iZombie last year as a ludicrous evil guy making zombies from energy drinks. So this felt very similar to me. And I completely agree the town would have gotten high - I seriously thought that's where it was going.

Musical Mondays Week 24 Reefer Madness

Welcome back! The only anti drug PSA I remember is the one with the eggs, and even that is a little fuzzy because the two version I pulled up on youtube don't match with what I remember.
  7. In two eps and I don't think poised to come back, but the show doesn't really play by any real rules.

    The Skulls (2000)

    This movie is ridiculous.

Musical Mondays Week 24 Reefer Madness

Speaking of Neve Campbell, she was sorely wasted, I kept waiting for her to pop back up later. Also I forgot how pretty she is. The first song that KBell sang, I kept thinking about how when she was cast in Frozen, a big talking point was how surprising it was that she was musical and sang so well. Apparently everyone missed this movie or assumed it wasn't her voice or didn't want to bring it up in conjunction with a Disney movie. I enjoyed this for the most part. It lost me in the middle for a big, but the end songs were a lot of fun. They must have had a ridiculous amount of fun shooting this. I wonder if Alan and Bell discussed this on set of Burlesque. I hope they're friends in real life.
  10. I really loved this one. We had such great singers lately, I was getting nervous we weren't going to get people not known for singing anymore. But Lennon brought it! I loved her voice and her style choices. Love this podcast.
  11. Love it. Not my favorite, but high on the list. Yes. Buy stock in Grubhub and avoid rollercoasters in December.
  12. Am I going to get shunned if I admit I don't like that movie? Hypothetically.
  13. Ok I'm definitely going to be in this week if KBell is in it. I somehow missed last week even after putting the movie on hold at the library - and then went out of town and apparently they have a 24 hour pick up period - so I'm looking forward to jumping back in. Sorry I've been such a ghost lately!

    Episode 173.5 - Minisode 173.5

Honestly I didn't think The Good Place could get better for me. I was wrong. Let's get D'Arcy back on the podcast now.
  15. That's why I'm late this week, I have a hold on it at my library. I bet someone from here has it

    Episode 173.5 - Minisode 173.5

My nephew is about three and I don't know what his mother listens to with him. But when I turn on the Alt-Rock station he yells 'MUSIC!' because its what my brother listens to. He hasn't requested any songs with me, but he does love to sing Wheels on the Bus over and over and over again. As for tv shows, he's obsessed with Paw Patrol and Blaze.
  17. I'm probably not going to be able to make it tonight, sorry! Last minute plans

    Episode 172.5 - Minisode 172.5

You just reminded me that for some reason my (required) Consumer Ed class in high school watched this movie as part of our curriculum. That and the Tom Hanks movie Money Pit.

Musical Mondays Week 22 Bugsy Malone

As a side note, I'm honestly shocked at how many positive reviews this movie has. I thought it was mostly gimmick rather than substance, and then I googled it after I gave up watching. Its got 83% on Rotten Tomatoes and 4.5 Stars on Amazon. Imdb says The movie is ranked at the No. #353 rank on Empire Magazine's "500 Greatest Movies of All Time" list compiled in 2008." Did he ever get to tap dance? I was going to fast forward and try to find it, but I didn't see it passing by. I was rooting for him.

Musical Mondays Week 22 Bugsy Malone

I only lasted like 30 minute into this movie because the youtube movie was giving me a massive headache. Which is probably my own fault for attempting to watch an already low quality video on a regular sized tv. The kid thing was very odd but I appreciated that instead of putting kids in an adult situation, they just made everything childlike - the bar served milkshakes, the cars were bikes, etc. It was a very surreal world they built into this movie. I will say that the biggest complaint was the pairing of adult voices to small children. The voices didn't match the size of the children - why not just hire children that could sing? Also within the small time frame I watched, Jodie Foster immediately popped off the screen. I wasn't surprised to IMDB and learn most of these kids didn't do much acting, but she was great!
  21. I think it'll work for me, as of now my Friday looks clear

Musical Mondays Week 21 Guys and Dolls

Usher says "Let's do the dance I taught you", so clearly he held rehearsals for them to learn it. They probably practiced on their own.

Musical Mondays Week 21 Guys and Dolls

I thought this immediately when the bet happened. Though I'm not sure if the craps game dance is better or the prom dance.
