  1. Out of curiosity, do gym teachers and/ or coaches usually have offices in the middle of the locker room? Isn't that a little inconvenient if the opposite gender student or teacher needs to talk to you? My school had a separate area for teachers, but we also had a pool, a gymnastics gym and a rock climbing wall as well. They loved PE there
  2. At some point in the movie, her mom says that they promised not to transfer her again until Gabriella finishes school. I wish I knew what her constantly moving job was. Seems pseudo military with all the moving. Also - at the ski resort - there were SO many teens there. I've never been to a 'kids party' at a resort, but I would assume it would include younger kids and also not as many teens. How many people were staying at this resort? I've also never been forced to sing karaoke at a party with strangers but that's neither here nor there.
  3. Almost the exact opposite of this GIF
  4. We didn't have homeroom in high school, only in jr high. Our morning announcements were part of the first period. But our school we were allowed to take off either first or last period senior year and we were allowed off campus lunch because the lunch room was too small for everyone.
  5. I was thinking about the extras at the game - if it started at 3:30 (which is an insane time for a basketball game to start), did all of the Wildcats get out of class early for warm up? Did the other team take a half day for travel and their warm up as well? And did everyone just go from their last period class straight to the gym for the game?
  6. The weird thing is they never actually auditioned. She told them no, they were disappointed but fine with it, then they just jammed with Kelsi and she gave them a call back.
  7. Speaking of which - kind of a dick move on Troy's part to get Gabriella thrown into detention on her first day. No way he didn't know that it would lead there.
  8. 9. She refuses to use any sports terminology like "team" or "practice" 10. Her students easily convince her to change the time of her auditions, which leads me to believe they've pulled crap like that before. Meaning she's very easily manipulated. Also - how impressive is it that Troy can hang out in that tree? I would not trust a student made prop to hang out in
  9. People being called nerds makes me laugh every time.
  10. I know you've all moved onto HSM 2 and 3, but I want to quickly go backwards to the decathlon in HSM 1 - what could they have possibly snuck into the classroom that caused them to evacuate immediately? It also seemed odd that not only were they able to be on their computer during the competition but also set up a beaker with a bunsen burner that no one seemed to be near. Also - did anyone find it weirdly brutal of Taylor to break Gabriella's heart - the girl is in tears - and she's causally just asking her if she wants to go to lunch? They've known each other what, a week?
  11. I would be probably one of the poorly auditioning students because I never got cast in our high school plays but tried out every year. Most likely the girl that just stays frozen and gets shooed off. But I wish I could be Zeke.
  12. Yeah, I can't really see people teasing Regina George to her face, they all seemed to fear/admire/resent her. When Sharpay was freaking out about the call backs, the basketball team mocked her. I think SHE thinks she's the most popular girl in school, but no one else really cares.
  13. That reminds me that I wikipedia-ed Kelsi after I watched this movie (because I didn't want to watch the sequals but wanted to find out what happened to her) and this was in her bio:
  14. I love how everyone except Troy is doing an action shot, and Troy looks like he was told to solve a very confusing math problem in his head. I went to a very large high school and we never had a poster (of any size) for any of our athletes. And one of our basketball players was on ESPN while she was still a junior.
  15. Sharpay seemed to have a crush on Troy at certain points of the movie - wouldn't she want him to audition so she could share a stage kiss or something with him instead of her brother? Or when you audition in pairs, do you have to stay in those pairs forever?
  16. They're probably mad because Troy seems to be running practice. He calls for them to pair up and run drills. Which would explain the singing too. The more they let him sing in practice, the less his dad actually has to be there.
  17. He was very sweet, and so proud of himself that I don't think my friend ever told him that she didn't actually like the movie. I'm pretty sure she never took it out of the shrink wrap, but she still kept it for however long they dated. Fond memories lol
  18. I was in college when this came out. My roommate and next door neighbor watched it with me and I think we all sang the Status Quo song to each other for months. I don't really remember why we watched it initially, but it was an enjoyable drunken night. Unfortunately my friend's boyfriend thought we were being serious when we kept referring to it as our favorite movie and went out of his way to buy her some deluxe dvd when it came out near her birthday. It was awkward.
  19. That made me laugh out loud. Chad also was never without a basketball, which I appreciated. The jock characters literally carried their priorities with them - Chad loves basketball, Zeke loves baking. Also, random, but Troy magically changes between a track suit and basketball jersey several times in last few scenes of the movie. Why would he take the time to change before audition and/or singing with the whole group when no one else changes?
  20. He wasn't part of the Status Quo song, but Troy seems to adapt very quickly to being known as the jock who sings. He briefly gets upset that people found out, and then just seems to constantly tell people that its not going to be a conflict. Aside of course from when he tells his friends what they want to hear so they'll leave him alone, but he doesn't seem like he's actually going to bail on the audition at all after that. He also seems very level-headed/earnest - when the other jock tells him about Zeke's baking, he seems really into it immediately. When Gabriella wants to audition and can't alone, he barely hesitates to help her out. He's super nice to Kelsi immediately after (re?)meeting her. His jock friends keep telling him he can't do both, and he basically just says sure I can. Also - I quickly want to mention how much I hate the drama's teacher refusal to recognize any sport terms. She sees a basketball and calls it hockey. She refuses to use the word 'team'. Its not that hard to remember basic terms.
  21. I'm sure I could talk about props and set dressings in this movie all day, but I'd really like to just talk about Zeke. He's my absolute favorite person in this movie. Once he decides that he's coming out as a baker, he just leans into it. Doesn't seem to care at all that his friend made fun of him. Prior to him just carrying around bags of baked goods everywhere he goes, what was he doing with all of it? And where is he getting the time to bake ALL of these different things? Also - I have a terrible television so I watch everything with closed captioning. This exchange came up before Troy saw Gabriella at the school -

    Musical Mondays--Rotation and Sign Up

I'm a serious lurker in these threads, but I would love to suggest a musical! When I was a kid, they were free at the library so I've seen far too many of them. I'll try to participate more in the future

Episode 160 - The Lake House: LIVE!

From what I can tell, the only two people that lived there were our two main characters. So, when he drives up to check the mailbox, is he barging into a house that she's currently living in? Or that she's recently abandoned? How long did she live there and what's the gap from when she left to when she came back? Because he could have just stuck around there. So she kissed someone else at that party?

Episode 160 - The Lake House: LIVE!

Yes. Or just wanting to start a new life. It also lines up for me why he just gives away his house and dog.

Episode 160 - The Lake House: LIVE!

Honestly, I feel like Keanu faked his death in this movie. She doesn't recognize the body of the dead man, because it wasn't actually him, but was identified as him through wallet or something. His family thinks he's dead when she talks to them but Keanu meets up with her later so he was alive in that timeline. Maybe he was in hiding and that's why he couldn't call her or meet up with her on reservation day. That's the only way this makes sense to me.
