So is it too late for me to start listening to the show?
Fabio's Socks replied to A_Particular_Knee's topic in Hollywood Handbook
You're not allowed to listen to any bad episodes of this show, which is none of them because they're all good. Hope that clears up any confusion! If you want some inside info on serial, you might be allowed to listen to the beginning of the Pauly Shore episode, where the boys solve serial like several years in advance -

We used to have a guy who would post several hundred times by himself, usually counting down bottles of podcast on the wall or something. But then he got banned I think. What was his name? Jerry or something. Anyways, that's why the threads dont get posts anymore. Our hero got struck down -

It's September right now, so technically Hayes and July are in different places... in the timeline at least. -

I hope he's taking a break, too, but unfortunately I think that means the angry guys on reddit are required to make mean comments to him like they did when Hayes & Sean took a week off to give us that paid thing for free -

This show is so brilliant its rewriting the rules of storytelling. All I ever hear these days is how my favorite movie franchises will fail because there's no steaks and no one dies. And who am I to argue? If Game of Thrones has taught us one thing, it's that there's nothing smarter or more interesting than building an interesting character and then just killing them for shock value without having them develop or go through any sort of complete and satisfying arc. Writing a complex, nuanced character and putting him or her in a wide range of challenging scenarios to see how they grow and develop? That's such a dated, 90s way of storytelling. But the boys are showing that they know the rules, then refusing to play by them. Santaman was dead, now he's not. Earwolfman Jack was dead, now he's running around gobbling down hair. The show has been officially dead for weeks, and yet they keep churning out their best episodes ever every Tuesday. The genius George R Martin would have killed off Santaman, Earwolfman Jack and the entire show, ideally all during the first month of airing. That's steaks. So dangerous. But I'm glad Hayes & Sean are tossing the steak rules aside and doing something even more brilliant: keeping their good characters alive because they're good characters who are more interesting alive than dead.- 22 replies

Episode 202 - Maria Blasucci and Amanda Lund, Our Close Friends

I have a popcorn gallery question for Hayes & Sean: with the show's current policy being that the show is very bad but is still the best podcast, does that invalidate previous "Eh Wrong" segments in which you corrected commenters by saying the show actually is very good? Or should we have been listening to those previous "Eh Wrong" segments with the implied subtext that you meant "actually very good" in relative terms compared to the entire medium of podcasting, which, as you've established, is very bad? Also great show this week, I laughed so hard -

Jon, How special is it for you to be featured on the landmark 200th episode of the show, and how will you ever repay Hayes & Sean for the honor? -

Episode 191 - Eugene Cordero, Our Close Friend
Fabio's Socks replied to DaltonMaltz's topic in Hollywood Handbook
OK, I have to make a big apology. Last week, I publicly and infamously torched forum favorite Charlie Murphy Brown for using his weekly suck-it-chanson photoshop to promote Universal's Dark Universe. But I had no idea that Hayes and Sean had acquired the Dark Universe, nor that they had hired on Charlie Murphy Brown to run some internet marketing for them. I want to send my deepest apologies to Charlie, Hayes and Sean. Charlie's weekly photos are first thing that makes me laugh each Tuesday and Hayes and Sean bring about my next several thousand laughs of that day and the rest of the week. I want to let all of you know that I'll be buying tickets to The Mummy every day this week as my penance.- 43 replies

Is George Brett related to Engineer Brett at all? Like his dad or something? I wonder if he taught Engineer Brett how to use pine tar to become the head engineer or anything like that -
