On top of that, in those windy mountain roads, there's no alternative route, so they say 'first one to rattlesnake pass' or whatever, but the rest of gang don't get to take another road so they're waiting at the finish line. Given the brain functions of some of these boneheads, all the racer needs to do is get to rattlesnake pass and then keep driving when Skank pulls over on the side of the road. Or if there are crossroads, why not, uh, take a left and drive away? Why not drive right to town, to the police station? This race logic is terrible. -

It's set in fictional Brooks, AZ, but it's pretty clearly shot all over Tucson. No idea why they didn't just call it Tucson, but I guess they wanted 'small town' stakes. I've only been to Tucson twice but I recognized it right away. Here's a site that goes into this in detail: https://sites.google.com/site/80sfilmlocations/Film-List/the-wraith-1986 -

I'm interested in knowing what 'instructions' are in the 'glove compartment' of the Alien Murder Car. Do the instructions say 'the clutch is a bit fussy, and don't forget to use premium gas', or do they say 'press the red button to vanish into four indistinct beams of light after you've murdered a dude'? Is Billy inheriting the right to intergalactic powers, or just a really sweet ride he can drive to the swimmin' hole? -

Watching the Death of Superman Lives right now on Cam Bert's recommendation, and they're flashing potential cast lists of the Nic Cage Superman up on the screen. Number one candidate for Jimmy Olsen? Tom Everett Scott. -

Could not be happier about the return of the Loveable Lads from Liverpool! -
Guys, we're burying the lead here. I'm pretty sure Depp is the one who gets stabbed to death. Catharsis!

Yeah, my memory of that moment wasn't that it was a big cathartic release moment where they finally get together - it was that Faye was emotionally vulnerable and kissing Guy was a rebound doomed to fail. Sara's rewrite is much better. -

Hey, I have a question. How likely is it that on their major television debut that not only would they replace a band member with a session musician but basically advertise him to the viewing audience like he's a permanent member? And if Mr. White is all about image, why does he let the session guy play under his ridiculous name Wolfman? Even the TV producer's like, 'Whoa, too scary' but even then the name 'WOLFMAN' is forever enshrined as a member of the band. Make him Chet. Or George. Yeah, George. And why don't anyone back home in Pennsylvania say to their television "shit, where's Tee Bee Player gone"? Why isn't it just like when No Doubt plays and everyone just pretends the rasta horn players aren't really part of the band? They could have done that. Or GONE ON AS A THREE PIECE, unless they're not lip syncing. I did like that this helped us avoid having to put the bass player's name up on screen. Nice work, Hanx. Still. Thoughts on Wolfman? -

If they were so set on being the Oneders, I always wondered why no one proposed 'The 1-ders' before they gave up on the pun altogether. Then they'd just be called the eye-ders I guess. -

I didn't get to watch the movie again so I don't think I'll be chipping in much this week, but I do like this movie and have had the bloody song in my head all week since the thread was announced. I just wanted to chime in to say that I was very pleased to see Guy show up in 'La La Land' as successful Emma Stone's husband. I thought it was nice that a movie directed by a guy who found success with a drummer movie ('Whiplash') cast a guy well known for playing a drummer in his next flick. Everything's connected, guys. ETA - I wrote the word 'guy' there so many times without meaning to. Spooky. ETA2 - this is post 1234! My Sesame Street post! -
No, Branagh plays Poirot. I, for one, am very much looking forward to seeing Branagh's take.

Plus The Wraith was filmed in your home town!

Singing psychopaths makes me think of this scene.
